Chapter 3: Wishin I had a Knight in Shining Armour

The stranger pulls me into what i think is a closet and pushes me against the wall. "Who are......" The stranger stops me mid sentence with a kiss. I push him off of me and try to find a switch to figure out who this stranger is but before i can, the stranger pulls my dress and sticks his hands on my bare skin trying to get under my underwear. He pulls my underwear down. I scream. He covers my mouth and says in a deep voice, "Come on. Let's play a game." He starts to pull my dress over my head when, Veronica Casen walks in. "That's enough Brad. Maybe that will teach you not to like my boyfriend. Don't smile or even talk to him." Veronica says before sashaying out. I run out of the closet and collide with Dylan. My makeup is running, my hair is messy, and my dress is torn. " What happened?" "Where were you? You left me." Tears start forming in my eyes. "Lexi i'm sorry. What happened?" I start to cry. He envelops me in a hug. I clutch his shirt in my hands and start to hit him. "You shouldn't have left me. This is why i don't go to these things." I cry in anger. James comes up and asks what's wrong. "Why don't you ask your girlfriend. I'm sure she has something to do with it." "Veronica would never do something to hurt her." "Pfsht! Whatever." I can't listen to them anymore. I run away from them and out a door and into the woods. I think i'm alone and it's quite. I see a big oak tree. I climb up to the highest branch and sit up there and look down at the city. I sit up there for a while in peace until, i hear footsteps. I then hear Lacy, Gracie, Dylan, and James's voices. "Let's split up. Lacy, Gracie go that way. James you go that way. I will look around here." Everyone diverses, except Dylan. He looks around. He looks up all the trees except the one i'm in. He sighs and says i should have stayed with her. I'm such an idiot. He climbs the tree i'm in on the opposite side of me and sits on the highest branch and lowers his head and puts his hands on top of his messy but, sexy brown hair. It's quite for awhile until i think i hear someone close by singing. The voice is so amazing. I wonder whose it is. I sit and listen closely. " Play me that song Play me that song you wrote bout the girl who might not ever know how much you care or how much you love her play me that song play me that song again cause i like to think there's someone there who might love me just like that so play me that song again....." I look around and suddenly notice that it's Dylan! "Dylan?" I suddenly speak. I guess i startled Dylan, because he jumped and fell on the next branch. "Jeez Lexi! We have been looking for you. Have you been up here this whole time?" "Yeah. When did you start singing and what song is that?" "Well i started singing when i was six and my friend Brantley Gilbert made that song." "You're friends with BG?" I say excitedly and shocked. "Well yeah sang with him in concert." "Lucky. I wish i could sing with him. It has been my dream to sing Picture on the Dashboard with him." "Well maybe he will sing with you sometime." "I wish." "Than your wish shall come true." "That will be the most sweetest thing you would have ever done." I smile as he sits next to me. We look into eachothers eyes. His eyes are such a bright beautiful blue. I suddenly notice he is leaning in. Do i lean in? What is happening. I have never been in this situation. We are only an inch apart when i hear Gracie say, "There you are Lexi. Good job at finding her Dylan." Dylan says, "Yeah now uhhhh........", He smiles and looks away, " let's go." He jumps down and helps me down the tree. "Well why were you up there?" Lacy asks. "Hoping and wishing i had a knight in shining armour." I reply. "Well i think your wish came true." Lacy smiles. I know she talking about Dylan. But that can't be right. Why would he want a girl like me. We walk back in the house. The party is over. There are a few people wasted and lying on the floor. There is trash everywhere. We head out the front door,walk to the car, get in, and drive off. Lacy and Gracie are in the back seat asleep. I wake them up as soon as we pull up in Gracie's driveway. They are staying there tonight. We drop them off and drive to my house. My eyes are slowly closing. I guess Dylan notices me slowly falling asleep. "Come here." He says. I scoot closer to him and lay my head on his shoulder. I suddenly feel a breeze. I shiver and rub my hands on my arms. "Here." Dylan stops the truck and covers me with his jacket. "Thanks Dylan!" "Your welcome cupcake." He starts the truck and we are back to riding. I must have fell asleep, because i wake up in someone's arms. I softly say, "Where am I?" "Shhhhhh. Go back to sleep cupcake." Dylan answers. He carries me up the stairs and into my room. He sets me down gently onto my bed and says, "Goodnight cupcake. See you in the morning." "Wait!" I say. Dylan stops and walks back to my bed. "What is it?" He asks. "Will you stay with me? Please." "Ummmm. Yeah. Yeah i can stay." He replies. I sit up and he lays down beside me. He is leaned up against a pillow. I lay my head on his chest and shut my eyes. He puts his hand on my hair and kisses my head. "Goodnight cupcake." He says before falling asleep.
