To Fade (A Fairytail Nalu Fanfic)

[Lucy]

As soon as Lucy shut the door behind her, she slouched down to the floor. She leaned the back of her head on the wall, looking on the ceiling. She sighed. "Natsu.." She whispered to nothing. She hated to seem him fall apart so easily, so quickly. It just wasn't like him. After everything that they had gone through, he had held his head high and smiled. After talking with him in the room, she felt kinda gloomy. He had faked his smile. Or, she thought so.

She blinked when she felt a finger poke her arm. "Lucy.." She looked to her right to see Gray crouched next to her. "How is he?" He asked, his voice rough. She cleared her throat, tugging on her ponytail.
"Same as he's been for the past week. He's still having the nightmares.."
Gray grumbled under his breath, running a hand through his hair.
He then sighed. "You think he'll be okay for the rest of the night?" I nodded slowly. He nodded back.
"Alright..well, uh, I'm going to go check on Juvia.." Lucy covered her mouth, trying to cover up her giggle and smirk. He glared at her.

"Haha, very funny." He stuck out his tongue and she did it right back at him. His mouth flipped up into a small smile. "Good night, Lucy."
"Night Gray." He stood up and walked to Juvia's room which was right across the hall from Natsu's. He opened the door and Lucy could see Juvia laying in a bed, a giant bandage wrapped around her stomach.

Juvia gasped loudly. "GRAY-SAMA? VISITING JUVIA THIS LATE AT NIGHT? JUVIA FEELS VERY MIXED EMOTIONS ABOUT THIS!" She practically said, squealing. "Juvia!" Gray whispered harshly. "You're going to overexert yourself!" Juvia froze, going pokerface. "Juvia apologizes." She whispered. Gray chuckled, a small smile on his face. "It's alright, Juvia. It's just fine." He close the door behind him.

Lucy smiled. She loved that Juvia still could make Gray smile, all of us smile. It was as if she still felt hope. Lucy wished her and Natsu could still be happy like Gray and Juvia were. She wished she could still go on adventures with him..

Lucy heard one last noice before she fell asleep, and it was the sound of Natsu's adorable snoring.
