Leeched

Prologue

 

 

 

It was my ninth birthday when the leeches attacked. Not the little ones you find when you go hiking out in a rainforest or something like that, but aliens. They looked like humungous leeches, hence the name.

 

Just as I blew out the candles and made my wish. I wish something exciting would happen in my life. As you might have guessed, my life was very same old same old. Get up, go to school, go home, have dinner, go to bed. Also I had to get dressed but that changed daily.

 

Soon after everyone started counting my years something landed on my head and everyone screamed. It was one of the leeches. Luckily, I had jumped away from it in time, as it was heading towards my mouth, but Mum was less fortunate. It had crawled up her leg and into her mouth. Mum started shaking violently. Her head kept on getting larger and larger, as her face became bluer and bluer.

 

She suddenly stopped and turned to me.

 

“Greetings child. No need to be alarmed we come in peace,” a different voice said inside Mum. Tears started spilling down my eyes.

 

“Mum?” I whispered through everyone’s screaming.

 

Whatever Mum was now started walking towards me. I would have stayed there if it wasn’t for my best friend Maddie who pulled me away from her.

 

I ran into my little sister Bobby’s room where a leech was hanging over her head. I through a book at it and carried her outside. I didn’t know where I got the strength from, I guess it was just adrenalin.

 

My friends and I ran outside into the street where every other person had turned into a thing just like Mum, both adults and children. Leeches were crawling out form every nook and cranny.

 

“We have to get into a car!” I called out to my friends. Seth suggested his parent’s land cruiser, and everyone was too stressed to disagree. We ran as fast as we could to his house to find his parent both invaded by leeches. Seth raced in, no matter how many times we called out to him to come back. He was gone for a good five minutes, while we were stuck out here dealing with these leeches.

 

Callie was invaded just as Seth came out and we all ran into the land cruiser, except for Halley who ran up to her twin sister. Seth ran out and pulled her back, tears in his eyes. Tears were in everyone’s eyes. Nobody wanted to leave, everyone wanted to stay and find their parents but they new better than to go.

 

We all somehow fit in the land cruiser together. I counted us up later, there was about fifteen of us altogether, including Bobby. We ended up driving all the way out to Mel’s farm, which we all thought was safest. We actually never knew that Mel had a farm; I guess that’s why she was so good at driving, so used to the tractor I guess.

 

Four years later, we were still living in Mel’s farm, which had been deserted. We had picked up a few more children on the way. Unfortunately all of the adults were taken over . . . it was up to a bunch of children to save the world.

hey! I like this story and it sort of generated from falling skies (awesome TV show) and i thought you all would like it :) chaper 1 is almost ready (if i ever finish) and for once it's not done on my iPod but on a computer :D and sorry that this is short but it is a prologue after all :P
