It'd been two weeks since Cam left for Magcon.

The promise he made to call me everyday was forgotten.

I hadn't talked since the day before he left and he wasn't picking up my calls or answering any of my messages.

"Please leave a message after-" I sighed heavily, after the call went straight to voicemail for the hundredth time.

I'd left him a couple of messages but he hadn't listened to them yet.

Tossing my phone on my bed, I fell back onto my bed, wringing my hands in my hair.

14 days.

14 days since we'd talked.

And not a single phone call or text.

I'd debated calling one of the other boys but decided against it.

Cam would call when he had the time.

If he ever had the time.

Deciding to bring my focus onto my French homework, I spent a good twenty minutes trying to make sense of it.

And gave up.

My phone was sitting there, on my bed, tempting me.

Eventually, I gave in and leaped for it.

Dialing Matt's number, I held my breath as it rang a couple of times.

"Hello?"

"MATT!" I practically jumped for joy when I heard his voice.

"Oh, hey, Y/N. What's up?" He asked joyfully.

"Is Cam there? Can I talk to him?" I asked eagerly.

"Cam? Uhh.." I swore I'd heard Cam's voice whispering in the background and Matt whispering back.

"Matt?" I asked again.

"Now's not really a good time, Y/N. Cam's a little.. busy." He said hesitantly.

"Oh." I tried to mask the disappointment in my voice but it came out, clear as day.

"Look, I.. gotta go, okay? Talk to you another time?" I could sense a hint of concern and pity in his voice but I wasn't sure.

"Y-yeah. Thanks anyways. Bye.."

I clicked 'end call' and stared at my phone for a full minute, trying to process what had happened.

It was only after a minute when I realised. Cam wasn't busy. He was ignoring me on purpose.

I cursed my stupidity for not realizing it sooner.

Unlocking my phone once again, trying to ignore my wallpaper of the two of us at Six Flags, I opened up mine and Cam's conversation slot in Messages.

To Cam:

If you wanted to break up with me, you could've just said so. You didn't have to leave me here, thinking that you still loved me and leaving me to realise what message you were trying to get across only when you refused to pick up my calls or answer my texts. I guess we're gunna be one of those couples who break up via text, huh? One of those couples you swore would never be us.

They were all empty promises weren't they? Promising to never hurt me, promising to never leave me.

Thanks for everything, Cam. I'm sorry it had to end.

I hadn't even noticed the tears flowing involuntarily down my cheeks until they started appearing on my phone screen.
