Foxkit exited the elders den, pelt matted slightly. Those elders have some pretty scary stories, he thought. Quickly, he spotted his sister and bounded up to her happily. "Hi Badgerkit! Where have you been?" He asked her quickly, smelling forest on her pelt. "N-nowhere!" She hissed back, then turned away. "I'm going to go explore by myself." She muttered, pacing off to the apprentice den. Foxkit decided that he would go investigate the warrior's den, and possibly meet some cats who he might want as a mentor. As soon as he stuck his muzzle inside, Hawkwing crashed into him. "Foxkit, child, go back to the nursery! You don't belong snuffing into there." He spat, and his tail angrily flicked side to side. "Sorry." Foxkit whimpered quickly. He couldn't believe that this harsh cat was his father. Besides the fact that Hawkwing told him to stay out of the warriors den, he continued on his expedition.

The small rust colored tomcat noticed a cat sleeping in his nest, but he was tossing and turning and thrashing out with his paws. Foxkit quickly approached him, and noticed that this cat's breathing was not steady. The cat, who's name was Cloudpelt, was a senior warrior and was loved by the whole clan. Thinking of how he could help, the kitten ran over to the medicine cat's den as fast as his little legs would carry him. "Cloudpelt's breathing is unsteady! It seems like he is gasping for breath in his sleep!" His mew was shaky, but Dovebreeze, the medicine cat, quickly turned around. "Let me see." She murmured, running quickly to Cloudpelt's nest.

Dovebreeze prodded him awake with a paw, and Cloudpelt's harsh breathing quickly escalated into coughs, and Dovebreeze scampered behind the warrior. "Foxkit, i think he is choking on a piece of moss. Could you reach down his throat quickly and pluck it out?" Foxkit quickly stood by the older tom's mouth, and reached down with a small paw. He felt a piece of moss and gripped it with his claws, then flung it on the floor. "Thank you, kit." Cloudpelt rasped thankfully. Dovebreeze padded back with the moss in her jaws, then set it down. "There seems to be a clump of thorns in there." She pointed out. "Cloudpelt, let me get you some herbs for your throat injury, and while I'm at it, I'll check your breathing." When the gray and white female ushered him away, she turned back to Foxkit. "Good job, young one! You saved his life!" Foxkit was shocked to hear that, but he dipped his head respectively. "T-thank you." He mews. "I'll be telling your mother about what you did. And be sure to tell me if you spot anything else!" She walked out of the den, and Foxkit went right out of the den and into the nursery.
