Badgerfang's Curse

Chapter One

"Foxkit! Get back in here!" Badgerkit heard her mother call softly. She opened her eyes, to see her brown and orange mother staring lovingly down at her. The small tabby cat stood and stretched, her green eyes shining in the dim light. Her brother, Foxkit, who was a dark ginger cat with white paws and muzzle, leaped at her. Badgerkit shoved him off. "Foxkit! Get off!" She hissed and padded to her mother. "Can we go outside and play?" She asked softly. Her mother, who's name was Flowertoe, nodded happily. "But stay in camp!" She called back, as the two kits began walking out of the nursery. They squeezed under the bramble wall of the cozy nursery. Soon, they burst into the clearing, eyes shining with excitement.

"Wow!" Foxkit chirped happily. "It's huge!" Badgerkit shut her eyes. Everything was too overwhelming. The smells, sights, and especially the sounds. As her brother bounced away, she saw a cat with a seemingly dark whispery aura around her. It was a kit, like her, but no other cat seemed to see her. "Hello," she whispered, and Bagdgerkit nodded a greeting. Her brother seemed to be doing his own thing, talking with the elders, so she followed the mysterious kit as she beckons her. "What's your name?" She asked. "Leafkit." Said the small calico shecat. "What are you going to show me?" Badgerkit asked, her tone edged with worry as Leafkit snuck her out of camp. "I am showing you a place that will one day be the place that will save you, but it will also be your final resting place." Leafkit's mew seemed blank, and dulled. "Okay.." Badgerkit replied, and scampered after the kit friend that she had met.

Leafkit then met her at a cave, and Badgerkit poked her nose into the small opening as she met the other she. "You will travel into there when you know the time is right." Badgerkit then ran back to camp quickly, Leafkit following. "And i have a treat for your brother."
