Silence
That's all she heard under the water, besides the small hum of electricity going through the walls and the occasional drip from the faucet. She felt peace under the water. If only her lungs held out for a little moment longer so she could enjoy the short lived tranquility. Her head slowly came up and out of the liquid, followed by her hand reaching out to grip the side of the tub. Air finally entered her lungs and May rubbed her eyes from irritation. A groan came from her lips as she moved to pull the drain, her arms extending as far as they could before the cramp of pain set in. The lights flickered overhead, and May wondered why she even decided to come as she dried her hair and put on her robe. She walked out into the hall and into her room, and laid on her bed. She felt her mattress shift from the weight of another, and turned her head.
"Hey Ro'." The dog's head lifted and gave a whine. May's hand lifted and rested on the 90 lbs black shepherd's head, who was anxious to get attention. The dog moved his head from the bed and jumped to put his paws on it.
"No, no, no. What did I tell you about the bed?" May shifted and moved Rolo off the mattress. The shepherd then glided to the other side of the room where he sat by the door to the hall. Rolo let out a whine and May sighed. She sat up and discarded the robe, throwing it on Rolo and giving a small laugh. She stood and turned to her closet, analyzing what to wear to work today. Once dressed in a simple dark green blouse and black skinny jeans, she turned back to Rolo and ushered him out the room. She walked into the kitchen past the hall and opened the fridge. Empty as usual, she thought. she closed the fridge and turned to Rolo, who was right up her tail, waiting for his breakfast. May opened the backdoor connected to the kitchen and let Rolo out. She fixed his morning bowl and checked the water dispenser, filling it up for extra measures.
"Alright boy," May grabbed her keys. " I'll be back soon." she closed the backdoor, locking it for safe measures. No one would dare step foot in her small backyard with a giant German shepherd, so there was no reason to lock it. May walked to the front of her small paid for house and out the door.

May opened the doors to GUN's main building, holding it open for the mail delivery man.
"Good morning sweetheart." The mailman tipped his hat to May, who gave a kind smile back. "Good morning Roofus." She walked through the doors and down the many halls before heading to her reception desk. She sat down and turned on her computer. A letter sat by her computer, propped up on her keyboard. She picked up the letter and examined it with a sharp eye. Not once during her stay at Mobius did she ever receive a letter from anyone. She opened the letter, confused as to why now, almost a year into her stay, would she receive a letter now. The content was blunt, yet well strung together. It was an apology letter. Her mind went blank at the sight, thoughts of who wrote it or why this letter is just now getting to her wandered her head.
"Whatcha readin~?" May's head perked up at the sound of a familiar voice and she put the letter in her purse.
" A letter from home." May looked up into her familiars face and grinned. The Ivory bat gave a small chuckle.
"Ooooh~" Rouge rested her head with her hands. She smirked and pointed to May. "Soooooo," her finger curled up into her fist as she bumped the table a few times for the heck of it, " I'm having a party tonight. And you're going, riigghhtt?" The bat batted her eyelashes at the ebony hedgehog. May shrugged.
"You know I don't do parties Rouge. I'm not exactly the type of person that people want to get to know." May pointed to herself, specifically the black fur and red streaks on her arm and her slightly curled hair spines. It was a daily struggle ever since she came to Mobius to ignore the constant staring and judging. She deserved none of it yet got it all.
"Hun, I don't care what you look like I just want you at my party. Not once have you come to my parties! I'm done asking!" Rouge lifted herself from her position and put a hand on her hip, clearly agitated with the other. " Screw everyone for thinking you're just some recolor, you're not what they think and I know it. Now, are you gonna prove these people wrong and come to my fabulous party or are you gonna hermit yourself in your house all day and write crappy fanfictions on that Watt paddle ?" Rouge gave small taps on the marble floor, showing her impatience. May scratched her head.
"You know I think I might just hermit my-" "Great!! I cant wait to see you there hun!" May tilted her head, following the ivory bat as she strolled around May's reception table and into one of the halls.
No choice this time...
May continued on her day, taking calls and directing them to either her boss or her bosses boss, and occasionally redirect someone to the correct building or room. Her job was small, simple, and easy, just the way she enjoys it. Before she knew it, her day shift was over with. She picked up some groceries from the corner store near her house, only remembering once she got home of the party that she was semi-forced to go to. May picked up her groceries and let Rolo in, who sat and waited for May to finish picking up the groceries for the week. May then walked to her room with Rolo following shortly behind. She sat staring on the side of her bed at her closet, wondering what was she going to wear. Her mind fell blank, and she began wondering of the endless occurrences that could happen tonight. her mind snapped back at the touch of Rolo's nose on her hand, and she gave a small grin. She stood up and walked to her closet, to get ready for the party.
It can't be that bad.

Okay guys, how was it? bad? better? okay? This is just a beginner, like a prequel. nothing exciting is happening besides a mysterious letter and an invite to a party. I've been out of the game for a while but I figured if I came back I could do something a little more realistic, more detailed, better than my last attempt, like a road less traveled by(#robertfrost #awesomepoems) I could really use some feedback, I am going to continue this either way but you guy's comments are what really keep me going. SO if you liked it, let me know! \(^.^\)
