What happens next (nalu)

To Dawn

     Natsu and Lucy haven't woken up yet, it's been almost three weeks, which has made everyone worry. They left them in the same room, they all knew how he felt about her and Wendy of course couldn't keep it to yourself that Lucy was pregnant. So now everyone is more worried, but excited for the both of them.... if they woke up.
        But still three weeks and nothing from them, just quiet breathing.

        Erza and Gray followed Wendy into the infirmary. "so how long until they wake up", Erza asked
         "Lucy any day now she and the baby are doing quite well but....." she paused
          "But what??", Gray questioned.
          " Natsu... nothing I'm doing is working, he might never wake up"
            Erza and Gray just looked at each other not really wanting to believe that their friend could be lost forever. Their friend their hero might never make it back. Gray walked over to Natsu it was "You stupid idiot you just had to save the day didn't you", Gray said in a small laugh. "you can't die on us, we still have some unfinished business you idiot", he paused and A quiet sob came out "i'll never be able to beat you, you're so much stronger than me, I never would've been able to do what you did".
              "damn right you'll never beat me", Natsu coughed slightly opening his eyes.
               "Natsu", Gray yelled out and surprise. "oh man I can't believe you're finally awake"
              Natsu smiled and looked around the room seeing Erza and Wendy. He tried to set up but immediately the girls were by her side pushing him gently back down. "Oh no Natsu, it's much too soon for you to try to be getting up. You still have deep wounds that haven't healed yet, I don't want you to reopen them".
               Natau looked around for a second. "where's Lucy", Natsu questioned.
               Gray slowly moved out of the way revealing the sleeping girl in the bed beside him. In seconds Natsu was by her side not caring about the wounds he might open. He had to see her.  He had to hold her hand. He had to feel her heartbeat. He had to make sure she was alive. That she was still breathing. "please tell me she's going to be all right, she's going to be Okay right isn't she".
           Windy paused "she should've woken up already, days ago really. We don't really know why she's like this but we just need to give her time. You have been out for weeks you need to eat before your body gives out". 
          Natau nodded "I know, but y'all go ahead, I'll be down in a second. I just really need to see her alone for a minute please". They nodded and walked out.
           Whenever gone Natsu turn back to Lucy's unconscious body "how did we end up like this?". Hey grab her hand and placed it softly on his lips started to sob.

Five months ago

           "Natsu we can get through this, we we can beat this. Just please don't leave "Lucy pleaded
          "Lucy the guild can't, I can't control it, not now that the book is open" Natsu stepped just a little closer to her.
           "we can find another way ", Lucy close the gap between them trying her hardest not to cry.
           "I want you to know something before I leave", hey pause but before he could finish he was cut off.
           "No I don't want to hear it, tell me when you get back ", and she turned away from him but before she could walk away he grabbed her arm and spun her around and kissed her, kiss her like the world was coming to an end, like he would never get another chance to do it.
           "Fine I won't say it but I will be back", and just like that he was gone leaving Lucy behind.
             He didn't know where he was going he just had to get away from her, as far away from her as possible. He had to protect her no matter what the cost. When he came back he was going to show her how much she meant to him. How much he really loved her.

             Back to present

           He never could figure out why he started thinking of the "what if's", not until he realized he had something he could lose. He had to do any and everything to keep her safe.
           With the crake of the door behind him he was quickly cut from his thoughts.  "Natsu", it was Wendy she walked into the room and sat beside him " with my magic I can see the gender of the baby would you like to know",
           Natsu look at her she noticing the tears in his eyes but deciding not to question them. He nodded "you're having a baby girl".
           Natsu smiled and the tears he had been so desperately trying to hide poured out. "You hear that Luce we're having a little girl" placing his hand on her belly
         "Natsu can I ask you a question", he looked at her and nodded. "Can you tell me what happened five weeks ago I mean you were gone for almost 5 months, you show and all hell breaks loose".
         He looked at her for a second  "I'm sorry Wendy but this story has to be told to the entire guild and I feel that the sooner the guild knows the better ".
                  Wendy nodded "you need something to eat first "Wendy added
              Natsu gently placed her hand back to her side and kissed her forehead, look at her for a few more seconds then walked downstairs to the awaiting guildhall below.
