Dominative
My boyfriend wasn't born a dominant person. I still wouldn't describe him as dominant. I would say that he knows I feel loved, cherished, and protected when he looks out for me, so that's what he does. If I were to feel more loved given free rein and independence, he'd do that for me. I just happen to feel that if I wanted to "be my own woman" I'd be much more successful at that on my own and wouldn't have bothered getting involved with him in the first place. He learned to be "dominant" because it is what I craved.
