Dear Diary,
Today's practice was mainly about our practice match with Karasuno last week. It was a day to just do what you need to work on. On these types of days I'd usually end up working with Bokuto-San, but today I had gone to work with Yamato almost immediately to avoid as much interaction with as I could. After about half an hour of setting and recieving for Yamato, we took a break on the side of the court. Then I saw Bokuto-San starting to walk towards the two of us. I quickly yelled to Coach that I was headed to the restrooms. I'm not sure what kind of expression Bokuto-San wore in that moment, but I was too focused on getting out of there in the moment to take a look back. When it was nearing the end of practice I was reminded that it was my turn to clean up today which I guess Bokuto-San took as an opportunity. Before I went to sleep I checked my phone and there were no recent messages from Bokuto-San. I kinda thought it'd be relieving but it feels weirdly disappointing..
-Akaashi Keiji
{ Third Person POV }
Akaashi wearily walked over to the pile of scattered volleyballs that everyone had thrown down in attempts to save time.
There were still a few people in the gym winding down from the end of practice, one of them being Bokuto who clearly had no other reason to be there other than what Akaashi was fearful he was there to do.
Akaashi only stared for a second longer until he bent down to bring the volleyballs to the storage closet. He attempted to grab four of them to get this done as quick as possible.
One of the balls had slipped out of his grasp which had caught the attention of the one person he's been trying to avoid all day.
Bokuto looked up at Akaashi and his eyes lit up as if he figured out something he had been pondering on all day. He quickly jogged over to where Akaashi was standing and bent down beginning to reach for the ball.
"Here, I got this!" Bokuto held the ball between his hands.
"..Thanks." Akaashi's eyes bounced between Bokuto's searching for something to say.
He only held eye contact for a moment more before swiftly turning around to head for the storage closet.
Akaashi heard Bokuto's loud, recognizable pattern of footsteps starting to move behind him. One pattern that had become very familiar.
He could also hear his very own heart beating faster with every step he took, although he couldn't distinguish what it was that he was feeling. Was it anger? He had wanted it to be so, but this feeling in his chest was all too familiar to him.
Why would he be feeling such a way when it was Bokuto who brought this awkward situation to light.
He could feel his nervousness slowly turning into frustration as he kept recalling the events of last Friday.
He lost his train of thought when he caught a quick increase in Bokuto's footsteps.
He saw Bokuto approaching from his right side and soon realized they were at the storage closet. How could he have been so caught up in his thoughts that he hadn't seen the door right in front of him?
