Prologue

[Byeol's P.O.V.]

I don't know how the situation ended with running but I don't care, I needed to get out of that house. They.. they're insane thinking that all monsters are truly horrible, heartless and demonic. There are monsters that are good.

"Omma, appa, I need to tell you something"

"Yes?"

"Well... not all monsters are heartless and bad"

They laughed

"What makes you think about that, Byeol? Have you maybe got a dream about that? Haha"

"Omma, appa, some really aren't, can you stop killing random monsters"

"Nonsense! Stop talking about this at once or you will have no food for tomorrow!"

"Omma! Appa! Some really aren't-"

"Byeol! Listen to your mother! Have you gone insane thinking that?!"

"Listen to yourself, you sound ridiculous"

They laughed.

"Believe what you want to! I'll leave!"

Then I ran out of the house, I heard my parents calling after me, I won't stop, never will I go back.

Until now, I ran and ran not even knowing where I was going, I just wanted to get away from that sick place I used to call home. Oh and what an idiot I am, running in a forest, a place where I could die by the hands of a monster or really, fall and die maybe.

I wonder how long I've been running, it feels like hours, my throat and body longed for water, my legs and feet tired from running, longed for rest and some protection as the things they ran into scratched them. I panted and panted but I never stopped, will anyone save me? I would rather die here.

At least I fought for what was right, to try to stop the bad deeds my parents did, but it wasn't enough I suppose. I heard rustling of leaves at my right and some running at my left, shoot, I truly am dead. I'm ready to die, I don't want to live this horrible life anyways.

I tripped, and fell, I tried to stand up but my legs were not responding. So I just turned, my face seeing the moon and the stars, would this be the last thing I saw before I finally rested in peace? Maybe and I surely hope.

"Byeol? What are you doing here?"

The figure looked at me.

"Byeol? Are you even ok?"

"..."

I gave him no response.

"It's not good to ignore someone you know"

He said with a chuckle

"Bo Gum... just kill me"

With that my consciousness drifted away.

I was either asleep or going to die.
