"Okay, its fine!" Aries whispered to herself as she looked in the mirror. "Its only the final volleyball game of the seaon. Winner," she took a deep breath, "Gets the regional trophy."

One slight probem...the person she absolutely hated most was attending her game. He was going to tell the whole school if she messed up, she knew he would.
"I'm not going to mess up!" She nodded to herself. "I'm great at volleyball and my team is pretty good too!"

Turning away from the mirror, she tied her hair into a high-ponytail and ran down the stairs. "We're going to win."
Her teammate, Libra, had been waiting outside in the car.

"Ready to go A?" She asked. Aries hopped into the passenger seat and the drove to school, where they were hosting the volleyball game.

Libra and Aries walked into the locker room and recieved greetings from the rest of the players. Aries, refusing to feel nervous, gave a wide smile to her coach as the first set of players, a group she was in, walked out to the net.

From the stands, she could see Gemini wink at her.
"Dammit. He really did come." She frowned slightly.

Libra overheard her and told her to focus her attentions back on the game. Taking a deep breath, she got her head out of the clouds. The cheering stopped as the other team walked in. Few people were still clapping, people who had come from the other school just to watch them play. The team seemed unfazed by this and got into their formation.

"Lets run over the rules really quickly..." the referee, Virgo, said before stating all the rules.

Aries zoned out again as she looked to the stands. Gemini sat next to Pisces and smirked at her. As soon as he realized she was looking completely at him, he blew her a kiss.

She turned back to the matter at hand, and the game began.

~woo, volleyball~

They were tied 1 match for them, a win of 22-20, 1 match for the oposing team, a win of 24-21.
The girls got together. "Listen, we've been doing really well. We just need to make it to 21 first this time girls." The coach stated.
"I can't play anymore coach, I've tried. I think I need to sit down." Leo said.

Aries had noticed she had been limping a bit and was slow on her usually hard hit spikes. 'She must have rolled her ankle. Ouch.'

The coach nodded and Leo slowly made her way to the bench. Sagittarius came over to the group, as the replacement.

'Oh, we'll never win if Sagittarius is doing the spikes! Not that shes bad...' But the other team had already memorized the play Sagittarius did before she went to spike.

"Sagittarius, you'll be subbing for Leo, but Aries, I'll need you to doing the spikes. Sage, you set 'em ok?" Coach ordered.

Aries nodded blindly. Her thoughts were racing. 'Wait, me? Spike?!?! If I mess this up, then us loosing the game really will be my fault! Gemini will tell everyone.' She deadpanned.

"Great, now go get 'em girls!" They all jogged back out to the court.

Libra served to the other team. A girl from the other side bumped to a teammate, who set it up immediately for another teammate to spike. Sagittarius dove for it, her kneepads protecting her from harm, and bumped it to an ally teammate.

They bumped to Aries and she hit it back over the net, before glancing over to Gemini. He wasn't paying attention to her at the moment, but was instead watching the ball fly back and forth.

While she wasn't paying attention, Sagittarius called out her name. "Aries! Whats going on? Stay focused! Your boyfriend can wait."

Aries retaliated, "Hes not my boyfriend!"
Sagittarius frowned, "But, the whole school knows he likes you. He said he was going to ask you out at the game. He probably meant after, whoops!" She shrugged grinning.

Aries mouth dropped open and she flickered her gaze over to him for another moment before getting back in the game.
'And all this time, I thought he was talking shit about me...'

Aries wasn't about to lose this game! Volleyball was her life! And she was definitely not about to lose infront of...Gemini.
"Lets get our shit together girls! We are going to do this! Sagittarius, you know what to do!" Libra said.

"Now thats a winning spirit!" Sagittarius remarked. Libra served and the ball was quickly returned back over the net. Sagittarius vollies it over to far corner of the court, where it bounces in before the other team can get to it.

They recieve the point and Libra serves again. This time, as the ball comes over, Sagittarius snaps her fingers, the signal for a spike. She sets ths ball and Aries jumps up for it.

Her heartbeats fast, the thought of missing or not spiking hard enough bounces around. Everything flies in slow motion. Out the corner of her eye, she sees Gemini give her a thumbs up. Smiling, she allows her hand to follow through and slams the ball down on the other side of the net.

"Game point! Win goes to, The Blue Jays!" Virgo announces and the team surrounds Aries. They lift her up and cheer, while walking into the locker room.

~after changing~

Libra and Aries are wlaking back out to her car, but she sees Gemini approaching.

Libra chuckles, "I'll wait in the car, you do your thing!" Before running off, leaving Aries sputtering curse words.

"Hey, Aries! You did really well out there! That spike was great!" He smiles, walking beside her.

She looks away, "Well, thanks." Taking a deep breath, she looks back at him. "I-I er, I heard you liked me..."

He laughed and nodded. "Who told you, Libra?"

She smiled slightly amd shook her head, "Nah, it was Sagittarius. So its true..."

He grabbed her hand, "Well, how could I not like you? Even if you avoid me in school, I still know you're the most badass girl I'll probably ever meet."

She squeezed his hand, "Heh, well you've got that right!"
He kissed her cheek, and she responds, "I guess you've scored a badass girlfriend."

Yay!~ I now have more free time to write parts. Sorry for not being on, school piles on a lot of homework before letting me set sail to vacation land. Phew~ now I'm done, I'm free!
