*Kai's p.o.v*
Katana had a busy day as she caught a lead in her husband's murder case. I went with her as a backup but sadly we didn't solve anything. We ended up late to the roll call and introduction and had to go straight to the helicopter {was it a helicopter I'm not really sure}. As soon as Katana and I hopped on the chopper all the attention was put on us. I looked around to find the one person I was looking for, the only one I cared to look for, and there he was. Sitting towards the back was my Ke aloha* wearing the jacket I got him for an anniversary years ago. My heart stopped for just a moment.
"There y'all are. These are my partners Katana and Ali'ikai, two the most skilled fighters in the world. Yeah, they got my back. If y'all try anything funny I'll send one or both of them after you. That's your ass on a stick." said Rick Flag to the rest of the team.
"Harley Quinn nice to meet yuh. I love your perfume what is that 'stench of death'"
"Should we kill them." Katana asked pulling out her sword as I did the same.
Rick told us to put our weapons down and take a seat to take off. I did as told and went to sit next to Chato. I grab his hand and lean my head on his should as he lays his on my head. I sigh thinking that I'm only truly risking my life to be with the love my life.
He kissed me on the top of my head and then laid his chin on it. I could sense that he had something on his mind that he wanted to tell me but, Diablo being Diablo, decided to keep it to himself. We both let out a heavy sigh as we worried about the mission at hand.
I don't necessarily remember falling asleep but I do remember waking up with this feeling of falling, and quickly. In this moment of panic, I rushed to the center of the aircraft and used one of my many mutations to float us down to the ground with a bit of a rough landing. The way the copter cause me to fall almost out the door but instead, the helicopter ended up landing on my arm. Wow, won't you look at my luck? I let out a groan and begin to wonder once again what I have gotten myself into.
