I stared down the dark, never-ending stone walls in the well. It was my 15th birthday, and therefore my turn to make a True Wish, a powerful wish that could see into your heart and would be granted only once. I had to make the True Wish alone however, and as I stared down the dark empty well, I wished it wasn't so. The woods around me seemed to close in, urging me to make a wish, and the thorns on the blood red roses looked like miniature daggers, small and lethal. I took a deep breath, and tossed a coin in. I looked down after it, waiting for a bright light to appear. Sure enough, just seconds later, the bottom of the well began to glow a blinding white, and I had to look right at its heart. I braced myself, and leaned over the side of the well. The light was a shock after the dark of the forest, shooting out like the sun in the morning. I held my gaze for five seconds, then felt my legs weakening. I gripped the side of the well to support myself, but my vision began to fade to black. I sank down on my knees, and the world went dark.

When I awoke, I was lying on clouds, lighter than air, softer than the softest wool. I sat up, tentatively tapping the clouds, wondering if I would fall through. When I realised that I wouldn't fall, I stood , up and took a few steps. I looked down. My old slippers had been swapped for a pair of beautiful new heels, studded with diamonds and sapphires. My blue skirt and clean white blouse had become a long flowing white gown, with sleeves that stopped halfway down my arm, and a low neckline. The skirt of the gown matched the shoes, and was studded with gems. I stepped forward, wondering where I should go. I was surrounded by blue sky, and there were no structures on the cloud. Confused, I turned around, for some reason expecting to find an entrance. I was about to give up, when a booming voice came through the ground. I gasped and took a few steps back and the voice spoke.
"Nova Deros?" It roared. Realising the question was for me, I managed a response.
"Y-yes, that is me," I stuttered, unsure what else to say. The cloud shook as the voice spoke again.
"Then, young Nova, it is time for your wish to be granted." The cloud shook, and I fell down, collapsing onto the soft cloud. The world was fading again.

When I awoke for the second time, I was back next to the well in my regular clothes. I didn't know what my wish was, as nobody did. However, it would soon impact my life, I simply had to be patient. I managed to stand up, albeit shakily, and tottered back through the woods to my family's house.
