With morning comes not only sunlight, but brutality in the form of your head pounding like a jackhammer. You fight it at first, swallowing heavily to push back the feeling of dizziness and nausea. And surprisingly, you win. Especially when you realize the soft warmth you feel isn't only your blanket – it's Lauren Jauregui, too, and she's comforting you in the most innocent way you've ever imagined.
By simply breathing.
It's all you never knew you wanted, truly – and it makes you smile. Your immediate reaction is to bury your face into her silken tresses, to breathe in her aroma and it's probably all you'll ever need to survive until the end of time. Until she stirs, of course.
The stirrings come slowly – first it's a sigh, a happy one you hope, then it's her hand caressing your back by sliding to your slide. And then, finally, it's her lips lightly kissing your bare shoulder.
You're sure her lips would follow their path to wherever she has in mind, but you interrupt her by fluttering open your eyes and croaking softly,
"Hey," A small, embarrassing sound but her smile is radiant. She whispers it right back and you offer your mouth to her, which she gratefully accepts in a good morning kiss.
"I was starting to miss you," She follows up and you crinkle your nose in disgust right at the second she bursts out in laughter.
"Gross." You lightly slap at her, accidentally hitting her, which results in her hand gripping your wrist and pushing it back until she's hovering over you dangerously.
"No need to hit me over that, though," She whispers darkly but she's just so infinitely adorable that you laugh again, pressing your whole body upwards and into her until she gives in and lowers herself, kissing you again softly.
"Please promise me we never become that couple," You say after she releases your mouth.
Lauren Jauregui opens her mouth, inhaling deeply – and you brace yourself for a snarky comment, or maybe even something mushy, but she simply closes her mouth again and smiles. Dazzling. Sparkle in her eye. And you're enamored with it; not realizing what caused her to react as such.
It's a never-ending cycle of admiring each other that you're in – and neither of you really knows it. It just is.
You never knew the bliss just existing with Lauren would be.
"Can we just stay here all day?" You ask quietly after a few minutes of reveling in each other and Lauren pushes her torso up, your eyes immediately raking over her naked chest as her elbows strain under her weight at your sides. You grin involuntarily and she rolls her eyes at your immaturity.
She leans down to kiss you so that you stop your incessant staring and you forget the question; just like you forgot the reason why you ended up at Lauren's last night – the booze having rid of all the things that happened before you showed up here.
Perhaps that's what causes your bliss – the ignorance, the haziness of your brain.
"Mhm?" You hum into the kiss questioningly when after five minutes, she still hasn't given you a verbal answer. In the back of your mind, you scold yourself for interrupting this slow, thorough kiss.
Because kissing Lauren Jauregui like you're kissing her right now; there really isn't anything better in the world. The way she gently brings up both her hands to cup one around your cheek, and the other to rest in your neck, her nails lightly scratching at your skin. And her lips skillfully manipulating yours to open so that the tip of her tongue can reach in to tease yours.
