It felt like it's been forever since I've awaken from that mobster scene, my eyelids were extremely heavy and all my moments in slow motion. I could barely use my lungs, my vision was so bad that all I can see is the brightening ray of the sun, shining against my face, possibly two thirds of my body since I can feel the heat on my legs... My legs... I lifted my head up, sharply staring down at my thighs and toes- Shoes... My swallowing breath speeds up as I already see myself in the school's uniform; a black buttoned up shirt, black and scarlet red plaid skirt and black knee high socks. I came here in black skinny jeans and a white t-shirt and not some bloody school sailor. That's when sounds of dripping water in a plastic container occurred from the left side of the bed. I forcefully open my eyelids, looking over to my left; a boy with a small Afro in a black suit with scarlet red lining and buttons, black skinny silk pants, and black leather dress shoes. As much as I want to scream and yell now it didn't seem like he was any real threat at the moment, I watched him ring out cold water from a red cloth rag. He looks over at me, giving a greeting smile while folding up the rag in large fours and lays it on my forehead.
"This'll cool you down," He said. "The headmaster said if you ever wake, then you'll have two days to get to know your classes and areas on campus." He stands over me as I look up at him. Knowing me, I would've put him in a headlock until his face turned blue by now, but I thought to just wait before I did anything to see if he's as friendly as he seems.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"The Girls Dorm." He answered.
"Then... W-why are you here?"
"The name's Virgil, headmaster's orders were to check on you, since I'm the medical student, he gave me a warrant." He aims a small flashlight into my left eye and keeps the lid open with his thumb. The light was dim but it was still too bright to me which caused my eyelid to stagger.
"Simon," Virgil spoke quietly. "This was his doing, yes?"
"No shit." I answered. "He usually does this often?" Virgil scratches his chin, looking away."Only when he's curious... But I honestly don't know why."
"What time is it anyways?" I asked once more as he checks his carbon-looking watch.
"It's 7:44 A.M." He says, staring out the window of the room by my desk. "That gives us enough time to cover the whole school, and even get you set up for registration." I sit up and turn to the edge of the bed in front of Virgil, rubbing my restless eyes. He places his hand on my shoulder and in a flash, I quickly smack it off. He continues to stare at me.
"Don't touch me." I said with a stern tone. "You think I forgot what I was wearing when I got here, didn't you? Goddamn perv." Virgil crosses his arms as he leads against the wall beside my bed.
"I didn't go any further past the undergarments-"
"Fuck you! Now I can't even trust the bloody school doctors!" My anger causes me to spring up from the bed and quickly sliding my feet into my black, single strapped flats."We'll start at the areas-" He started.
"Piss off," I interrupted as I clip my straps onto my flats. "I'll figure this out on my own."
"You need me for this, you can't go out alone all by yourself-"
"Like hell I can't!" I slide my arms into the sleeves of my school suit jacket. "I'm not gonna play 'follow the leader' with some pedophile-" Virgil grabs my arm."They're gonna kill you!" He shouted. I stop at the door with an abrasive look on my face.
"Get your fucking hands off-" Virgil jerks me closer to him quickly.
"The moment you step out that door by yourself, one of Simon's associates are putting a .50 cal right through that pretty face of yours. So if YOU wanna take on the world yourself? Then go, and watch how fast that Momentum of yours will end. My job was to come over to prevent you from dying over a highly lethal dosage of chloroform and show you around the school. You wanna be a hard ass? That's on you, cause you'll die a hard ass."
I tend to blow a couple of fuses at times, I know I'm guilty for that... But he wasn't wrong either. He left me speechless for a bit, which gave me the decency to finally suck it up, his face was questionable though and the fact if he's actually telling me the truth. Hell, I can barely tell if he was mad or curious, but now I know a bit about him. It somewhat changed a meager portion of me but I wasn't gonna completely trust him yet.
"Sorry." I said walking towards Virgil, I looked up at him from close. "Show me around then." Virgil gives me a small nod and fixes my suit jacket collar.
"We'll go through outside first." said Virgil while he opens the door for me. I walk out before him, he shuts the door and holds my hand. My body immediately becomes hot and red streaks being to appear on my cheeks. "The fuck..." I whispered to myself.
How can this be? A boy who did whatever Christ knows what while I was unconscious, holding my hand and I start to find it arousing... Bloody hell, I'm not some bloke's whore, and yet, why am I not pissed off from this?!As we slowly walked through the girls dorm halls; even the walls were burgundy colored, we continued forward with our hands intact like a magazine in a gun. Virgil kept me close as if I was his only precious thing to him. The female students who crept through the cracks of their dorm rooms kept us on their radars; this made me wonder if Virgil's something bigger than a medical student? These girls had malevolent looks on their faces but their asses remained quell as if they're ordered to not engage an altercation with me. Virgil opens the main doors of the dorm, giving out a quiet creaking sound and brings me along. He kept his jigsaw puzzle of a face on, something I sill can't implore but wonder if it's something that's impeding his emotions from ever showing.
Walking down the main stairs from the dorm, a red beam from the sky flashes into my vision and soon onto my forehead, causing me to stop immediately. This feeling from within, knowing that this is it, rushed quickly throughout my body. This red light; slightly dim, but as visible as the moon, dispersed in a second. I thought about what Virgil was explaining in the room, what moved me to listen to him.
"You saw it?" He asked.
"Shit..."
"As long as I'm nearby, they won't do anything." We started walking again.
There's definitely something out there that wants me dead, wasn't no ordinary test because red beams of light don't shine directly in between your eyes. Like I said before, he wasn't wrong.
