It was a bright Winter morning. The sun shown on the white snow, shaded by the round topped trees, that turn bright green in the late Spring. It was sunny, but chilly. It was not so sunny that the snow melted, but it was cold enough that you had to wear a coat. The cold breeze would occasionally brush against someone.
Even though it just had snowed that night, the snow was not much over three or four inches tall. It was fresh and new, with barley any footsteps in it. The children and the parents were were sleeping in, because of the two hour delay of school. There were barley any people walking or going through the small, modest city. Once in a while a bus or car drove by, but all was quiet. Even though, it was early in the morning, and not many were up, Avery walked through the snowy streets.
