Someone said something funny.
He laughed with his friends.
A girl walked by.
One of the boys yelled something.
The girl walked away,
and shook her head in disgust.
Everyone laughed.
He stayed silent.

He stood up,
grabbing his bag off the ground.
One of the boys looked at him.
Are you coming?
He refused.
We're gonna have fun,
you should come with.
He walked away,
shaking his head.
If he had so many friends,
why was he so lonely?

Children laughed.
He looked around.
Where was she?
He heard a laugh and turned.
His little sister came running.
He took her bag,
and held her hand.
What did you do at school today?

He lay alone in his room.
The door was shut,
light from his phone brightening the room.
Yells came from outside,
he tried to shut them out.
A sound came from his phone,
bringing him out of his thoughts.
He looked and smiled,
typing a reply.
I'm fine, thanks for asking.
