Here's an odd fear of mine, and the origin story is weird.

Alright. The fear is:

Looking out a window at night, and then seeing a dude who's not supposed to be there, who then takes me in the dead of night.

The origin story:

My elementary school did a Hide n' Seek thing where you went back after hours, from the evening to not so far in the night, so like 7-9 pm (or maybe 8-10. I don't really recall). I went once, and I had fun.

My school was open concept, and one of the last that I knew of in my town. An open concept school, for those who don't know, is like a normal school, but no walls dividing the classrooms. We had cabinets, tables, projector screens (and then eventually the not-Smart Boards) dividing our areas. Yes, it got noisy at times, but you learned how to focus on what you needed, so you got used to having background noise. (They recently put up walls, so it's no longer open concept.)

Back to the point, there were glass doors heading to the outside world. In our Hide n' Seek session we got flashlights when we were seekers. The lights were off and the hiders hid. I went around looking one time, and saw my reflection on the door, and freaked out, thinking there was a stranger looking in on our school. I ran back to a teacher, and that teacher marched me up to the door. I learned that way that it was my reflection.

I also was not the only kid who did it at the time.

So, yeah. What's a weird fear of yours?
