"Who's this?"
Her voice is raspy and old. You extend your hand out, and smile;  trying to give a nice impression.
"I'm F/N L/N. Mr. Hale has been tutoring me for a few weeks"
She scoffs at you, turning to him and draping herself all over him.
"Well, stay away from my Sweeteart, won't you sugar?"
His face looks so disappointed.  You wanted to drift up to him and tell Him everything will be fine.
"I'll walk home." Your voice is final and strong.
"F/N wait!" You sling your bag over your shoulder and walk out of his apartment.
"See you soon" you hear the door close and then your gone; as quick as you can. You almost run home, tears streaming down your face and mascara running black lines away from your eyes.

Saturday, finally. You rub the sleep from your eyes and yawn, the sunlight streams through the crack in the curtains. Yesterday plays through your mind on repeat.
"Sweetheart, are you awake?"
"Yeah mum, I'll be out in a bit!" You yell. You hear a knock on the door and your mum answers.
"Can I help you sir?"
"Yeah, I tutor your daughter and was wondering if she was in?"
"She is, but she's hardly awake. Go in ahead up to her room, it's on the right. I'd knock first if I was you"
"Thank you"
"No problem honey"
You hear his footsteps up the stairs.
"F/N?"
"Yeah, come in" you say, sleepily rubbing your eyes. He door cracks open and Mr. Hale is standing in the doorway.
"Can I sit?" He says, pointing at your bed.
"Sure"
"We need to talk, about... 'grades'..."
"Close the door"
He stands, closing the door until it clicks.
"I'm sorry for what Cortney said, she's been a little... off lately"
"I think she's always off, I don't like her"
"I know you don't"
"If all you came here to do was tell me that I'm wrong, you can go now"
"Well... okay. See you tomorrow?"
"Fine, but I'm leaving if she turns up and starts bitching again"
"Fair enough. Is 8 okay?"
"Sure"
