Chapter 8

Zoeys P.O.V~

" I didn't expect the woods to be this dense." Rythian said as we trudged through the shrubbery.

" Do you think we should go back?" I asked, hoping to not go back.

" Maybe we should. there might be snakes or bears or-"

" Or a dinosaur!" I interrupted excitedly.

"Or maybe a dinosaur." he said with a sigh. Rythian sure does sigh a lot.

" Ok, but one question." I said.

" What is it?" he asked as he turned around to face me.

" Which way is back?"

Rythians P.O.V~

" You've gotta be kidding me." I face palmed myself.

" So you don't know either?!" zoey asked; you could hear the surprise and shock in her voice.

" Don't panic, we can find our way out." I said reassuringly.

I looked around the immediate area for any signs of the camp until my eyes laid onto something that looked like a building of some kind.

" I think it's this way." I said as we made our way towards where I saw it.

Johnny's P.O.V~

" Alright kids! lunch time!" Scoutmaster ridge called from the grill that was stationed near the fire pit. sausages, onion, grilled potatoes and steak filled the air as we all rushed to get our lunch.

We all grabbed a paper plate each and lined up to get some food.

" Hey I just noticed something." I heard someone say behind me.

" Zoey and Rythian isn't here." The voice said.

" Hey now that you mention it, I haven't seem them all day." another voice said.

" hey uh, john?" a voice said as someone tapped me on my shoulder. I turned around to see Paul and Duncan standing behind me.

" I prefer Johnny." I said.

" Whatever, where are your friends?" Duncan said.

" Rythian and zoey? Rythian didn't wanna come for a swim and zoey stayed behind to make him less lonely I guess." I explained.

" I guess I should go get them." I said to myself as I got a great deal of food on my plate. I got out of line and made my way over to the cabin.

" Hey guys, wanna come get some food?" I asked from the outside.

No answer.

I opened the door and was shocked that they weren't in the cabin.

" Better go tell the scoutmaster." I said as I rushed out of the cabin.

Rythians P.O.V~

" what if we never get out of here Rythian?! what if no one comes looking for us?! what if we die out here from starvation?! or die of thirst?!" Zoey said in a panic.

" Relax zoey, we've only been lost for 20 minutes. I promise that nothing bad will happen to us." I reassured her.

" Promise?" She asked.

" Promise." I replied.

We walked along in the direction that I assumed camp was in until I realised that it was unnaturally quiet. I turned around to ask zoey something but before I could I realised that she wasn't there.

" Zoey?! zoey this isn't funny!" I called out. no answer.

I frantically looked around for any signs of her. if anything bad happened to her I don't know what I'd do. and I gotta explain to scoutmaster ridge and Zoey's parents about what happened to-
