"So you're saying that the murder wasn't you?"
"I am one hundred percent, officer! I wouldn't hurt any of these citizens."
"How do I know you're not lying?"
"I'm Sonic the hedgehog! Why would I lie?"
"We've seen some cases like this before, like those chilidog scraps in Eggman's lair, and you secretly stole everyone's items and made Eggman look like a fool."
"He had a robot duplicate of me!"
"That's not an excuse, hedgehog."
"More importantly, why do you accuse me of this? Just because I've been 'missing' going to investigate this situation myself doesn't mean I'll turn my back on all the lives I've previously saved! You know that I wouldn't put anyone in harm's way. Not even Egghead!"
"That's a lot of phooey coming out of your mouth."
"You just don't believe me."
"I don't believe you."
"What's that saying that every courtroom says?"
"'Every criminal is innocent until proven guilty.' But right now you're guilty!"
"With what proof?"
"This proof!" He threw the pictures at my face, scattering them across the ground. There were murder scenes, pictures of blood stained bodies, knives, pots and pans, even a sword. There were also a few strands of dark blue quills scattered about. But something caught my eye. There were words written in blood in each of the pictures. And a giant letter. I looked up at the officer, who completely ignored me, sipping on his coffee and whistling the day away. I glared at him, and continued to solve this puzzle. It took me about thirty minutes or so, but I figured it out.
"So many souls to play with, so little time. Would you agree?" I read out loud. The guard seemed to have paid attention this time. He spat out his drink and stared at me, then the floor.
"H-how did you do that?"
"Um, there's a giant letter in the corner of all the pictures. Are all you cops dumb or something?"
"That's an insult! I am the most intelligent officer in the planet!"
"Yet you couldn't solve this mystery."
"You only solved it because you knew where all the letters went because you were physically there yourself! Case closed."
"Or maybe I solved it because I'm smarter than you. Cased closed." I stood up and crossed my arms.
"You're coming with me, hedgehog!" He grabbed my hands and pulled out handcuffs.
"I didn't do anything wrong! My friends can back me up on that!"
"Tell it to the judge!"
He forced my gloved hands into the handcuffs and locked them.
Sigh. So much for getting my name cleared.
