Do you mind that I'm not the person you expect me to be.
I hope you don't mind that I chose to be someone else,
I hope you won't turn away from me,
When I need you the most,
I didn't want to disappoint you,
But I'm not who you wanted me to be,

Do you mind that my feelings towards you will never change,
I hope you won't shut me out,
Will you continue to be with me till the end,
Or will you run away,
When these feelings for you start to show?
But I'm not who you want me to be,

I hope you'll accept this new me,
Even if the rest of the world doesn't.
I chose to be different,
And I was born this way,
Do you mind that I'm not the same person you knew before,
Do you mind that I'll always love you until the end of time.

Do you mind that even though I love her/him,
I'm still your daughter/son,
I hope this change won't change your mind about me,
I'm still the same person you raised from birth,
But my thoughts and feelings have changed,
Do you mind that I'm not the same person you expect me to be?

This poem is talking about the LBGT people out there and how they must have felt they told their loved ones above their sexuality. So to all the LBGT people out there in the world, I think you're awesome and don't let other people tell you that you can be who you want to be or let other people tell you that you can't be with that one person that you love.
