A Say in the Matter
When opportunities rise, they don't come with a warning
Like darkenings of skies, or a crisp blue morning
They stay hidden, sometimes never found
And sometimes trampled upon the ground.
But then there are times when these chances are seen,
And are picked up and cared for and made nice and clean
And are altered, manipulated to their very best
Then they themselves figure out the rest.
But sometimes all we humans want is a chance
To take these ideas with more than a glance
And build them up like a wooden ladder.
All we want is a say in the matter.
