Chapter 1

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

I remained quiet.

"Whoever that is," I thought, "I'm going to ignore his/her knocks."

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT," I yelled out, "I'm coming, I'm coming!" I walked sluggishly towards the door and opened it. Naruto was at the other side.

"Hey, new neigh-, YAIKO?!" Naruto asked clearly confused, "You're my new neighbor and you live right across from me?"

"I guess I am." I said still quite confused, "So, WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM MY LIFE?! I WAS SLEEPING!!" Naruto cowered in fear.

"WAAH!" Naruto cried, "Sorry! I didn't mean to bother you... But shouldn't we go to the Academy? Our graduation exam starts in....." He checked his watch. Then his eyes widened.

"OH MY GOD!!" He yelled, "We're going to be late!" He quickly grabbed my hand and ran all the way to the Academy.

"Naruto!" I yelled, "GODDAMNIT! STOP! I didn't even wear my perfect attire!" He just ignored me and continued running. I sighed. Might as well enjoy flying through the air while Naruto was running. We made it in time. As soon was we ran in, everyone was staring at us.... Well, mostly me. I was just wearing my pajama's.

"Ok then," Iruka-sensei said, "Yaiko Ayame, you're first." I nodded my head and followed him into another room. I went inside the room and saw another sensei.

"Yaiko," Iruka-sensei said, "This is Mizuki. He's another sensei to help me with the graduation." I nodded my head, but kept my guard up. I may be clueless, but this guy, he's chakra was dark. Mizuki-sensei told me to do a clone jutsu. Scowling, I did "Shadow Clone Jutsu." Immediately, five of me's poofed in. Both sensei's nodded in satisfaction and motioned me to pick a headband. I looked at the headbands and shook my head in distaste.

"Iruka-sensei," I started, "Do you have a black or red headband?" He smiled, went to a drawer in a desk, and took out a black one. I quickly smiled and thanked both sensei's. As I walked out, Iruka-sensei told me to call in Sasuke. I nodded and ran back to class.

"Sasuke!" I called out as soon as I went in the class room, "You're next." While I said that, I waved my headband around. He looked at me weirdly, but then restored his composure.

"Naruto!" I yelled, "Guess what?! I passed!" I jumped up and down.

"Really?!" He asked happily, "That's great, Yaiko-chan!" I stopped jumping.

"Chan?" I asked. He looked at me sheepishly and blushed a bit.

"Y-y-yeah," He stuttered. Ok, now he was stuttering like Hinata.... -__-

"Anyway," I continued, "I'm pretty sure you will pass! Oh, and I'll wait for you!" He nodded his head eagerly, his blush gone. Sasuke came in and told Naruto that he was next.

"Alright," Naruto fist-pumped, "Today, I will not fail!" I smiled at him.

"Go, Naruto!" I yelled, "You can do it!" He went to the other classroom boldly. Then I went to Naruto's "special" swing. As I was swinging, I saw Naruto come. I jumped down from the swing and greeted him happily. He didn't seem happy. Then I got hit hard with realization.

"It's okay, Naruto," I whispered, "You'll get it next year...." He shook his head sadly.

"I-i need to b-be alone..." he murmured. I looked at him with pity and left to my apartment.

The sun was setting and still Naruto didn't come back.

"Naruto..." I whispered, "Where in the world are you?" As I was falling asleep, I heard the emergency sirens of Konoha. That woke me up with a jerk. Then I saw Chunin's running around. I barely made out what they were talking about, but I heard two important words: Get Naruto.

I then knew Naruto was in deep trouble. Using my chakra, I tried to feel where Naruto was. He was in the woods. Without hesitation, I ran to the woods. When I got there, I saw Naruto, Iruka-sensei, and Mizuki. It was a gruesome sight. Iruka-sensei was protecting Naruto from a big, big shuriken, windmill thingy. I heard Iruka-sensei confessing to Naruto about the Kyuubi inside of him and that scared Naruto. He ran away. Mizuki just laughed at Iruka and threw a kunai at sensei's heart. I quickly grabbed my own kunai and deflected it. Mizuki and Iruka-sensei looked up and gasped to see that it was me.

"Iruka-sensei," I shouted, "RUN!" He nodded and mouthed a thanks and disappeared. Mizuki just clenched his fist. Before any trouble was caused on me, I poofed to where Naruto was. Naruto was really shocked to see and he tried to get away. Luckily, I grabbed him and covered his mouth.

"Shh..." I whispered to Naruto, "Look." He looked at where I was pointing and saw Iruka-sensei and Mizuki. He was bad-mouthing Naruto and it seemed as if Iruka-sensei was agreeing with him. But then he told Mizuki that Naruto was very special in his own way. (This isn't what exactly happened, but I just wanted to put some feeling.... <(^ ^)>)

"Even if he fails," Iruka-sensei said, "I know Naruto can manage himself in his own way..."

"And what if he doesn't?" Mizuki sneered.

"Shut up!" Iruka-sensei roared, "He's Naruto Uzumaki! The future Hokage! He will definetly manage himself!" By now, Naruto was crying his eyes out. He didn't know that Iruka-sensei cared about him this much. Mizuki just laughed and he was about to throw a kunai, when Naruto head-butted Mizuki in the stomach.

"Don't you ever," Naruto threatened, "Hurt my sensei. Cause if you do, I'LL KILL YOU!" He did an awesome shadow clone jutsu and beated the hell out of Mizuki. Mizuki had a major nosebleed and was even bleeding in some......other places.....

"Naruto," Iruka-sensei said, "I have a surprise for you. Close your eyes." Naruto was confused, but he obeyed. Sensei took his own headband off and put it around Naruto's forehead.

"You can open your eyes now!" Iruka-sensei shouted happily. Naruto opened his eyes and felt the headband around his forehead.

"I-i-iruka-s-s-sensei...." Naruto cried. He then jumped on sensei and started bear-hugging him.

"W-w-waah!" Iruka-sensei shouted in alarm, "Get off of me, Naruto!" I laughed. This was really a great day.

Short, right? Well, this seemed like the perfect place to end.....Ehehehe.......
