"Fear is an unpleasant emotion cause by being aware of danger"—the teacher in front said.
This teacher right here, thought fear run through those words. But she's definitely wrong, fear is far from that. I must say, very far from that.
"Grade 10 Burnt Sienna, your task for today is to make an essay in regards to our topic for today. Particularly about fear, the questions posted in the board will serve as your guide. Must be done in a one whole sheet of paper. Class, is that clear?"
Well, I guess I have no choice but to answer those.
•What is your greatest fear?
•Why does it become your greatest fear?
•When did it become your greatest fear.
A sad smile plastered in mine as I turn my gaze to a group of students telling dumb jokes to each other, enjoying each other's accompaniment and spending life at it's best. Before these traitor tears do its lamest work, I've started writing.
I am fearless, not because I don't have fears but because I am strong despite of those. Humans' eyes has always been my greatest fear. Eyes are too expressive that even a sweet summer child can read through these and that is what I fear. I'm afraid of knowing the real emotions hidden behind those hideous eyes. I can't remember the exact date but I still remember the moment it become my greatest fear. The feeling I felt when the whole world turn its back at me.
"Kapagod ngayong araw no?"
"Huy Miles tinitingnan ka ni Dreand oh"
Inis na ibinalik ko ang paningin ko sa desk ko. I really hate it when someone interrupts me with my habit. You see I have this habit of observing humans.
"Ms. Andrews, don't you fear losing your loved ones?"—Ma'am
"I don't"
"Why is that Dreand? Sorry for invading your personal life. I'm just curious." —Ma'am
She asked me then she said sorry before I answered her question. Doesn't she know that what she have done is lame? It was as if she use sorry as a permission. It was as if saying sorry is enough for me to spill words about my personality and yet she says sorry for invading my personal life.
"Because I have no one ma'am." I answered
"I'm sorry.." Ma'am
I don't know if she's running out of words or she's afraid of the stares I'm giving her. Kung alin man sa dalawang 'yon, wala akong pakialam.
"Curiosity isn't a crime but it can lead to one."
Humans' curiosity often leads them to danger. It's pathetic how it rules their cluttered minds.
Before she utter nonsensical words, I made my way to the hallway. My eyes roamed for a minute, looking for a new victim.
"Got you.."
