Round 2: JAZZ

The opening ceremony had ended and we all headed to our respective classrooms for the get-to-know-each-other activities.

Most unfortunately, I found out I’m in the same class as him, I thought as I glanced to my right to find Addams, the temporary first placer, who was now surrounded by girls. I’ll never call him his first name unless I become a fag. This in fact will be never.

He’s new yet the all the girls seem to be wrapped around his pinkie. He must be really good with girls, that man whore, I thought in distaste, scrunching my nose.

He caught me staring at him and gave me a pleasant smile. I just glared at him and turned my head the other way.

I don’t have time to be nice to my nemesis.

After I told Colin and Travis to sit to our usual table at lunch, I entered the classroom with a golden roman numeral of the number three on the glass sliding door.

I just wonder who our adviser will be this school year. I hope it’s not some grouchy old woman who seems like a pedophile and likes to flirt with good-looking boys. Ms. Harvey was like that. She was my adviser last year and it was scary.

The thought of that old cougar made me shiver in disgust. Nasty.

As I slid the door open, the citrus-scented air-condition greeted me. Oh how I loved this rich aroma.

Exactly as I took a step inside the classroom, girls and boys flocked around me. Ah, it really is good to be back.

I got to my seat with was in the middle in front where I sat in the middle of three gorgeous girls. After a while of talking and greeting some old friends, our adviser came in laughing with Addams.

Already sucking up on the adviser, eh? Well, two can play at that game.

I stood up and went to where our new adviser, Ms. Styles, and that detestable Addams, stood talking. I took out a red rose from my bag, which was supposed to be for a random girl whom I might flirt with today, and stood in front of the two.

“Ms. Styles, here is for the lovely you.” I said as I handed the now giggling teacher the red rose. Ms. Styles was only in her mid-twenties so it wasn’t hard pleasing a woman of such age.

“Why, thank you, Mr. Lewis. It’s my favorite type of flower, though I prefer the white one. But who am I to complain? It looks so lovely.”

I smirked on the inside. Hah! Suck that, Addams.

I turned to look at him and he just continued smiling at our adviser until his expression turned blank and then he made this I-just-remembered-something face.

Bipolar much?

Addams turned again to our adviser, “Watch this.” He instructed.

He made swaying movements in front of the teacher and before his hand reached her face, he snapped his fingers so quick that even I couldn’t see and only hear the sound and made a white paper rose appear out of nowhere.

As a response, the teacher giggled along with some girls and a few claps were also heard.

“Here is a present for you, Ms. Styles for being a beautiful lady. Thank you for the very warm welcome.” Addams said as he gave Ms. Styles an authentic smile.

Ms. Styles held the paper rose near her chest looking genuinely pleased.

“How did you do that?” Ms. Styles asked Addams.
