[Jazz’s POV]

“How about,” Rosie prolonged the word while picking a laced blood red coat on the floor. “-this. Red contrasts with your skin, making you look like a Victorian vampire. That’s so hot.”

It’s already been six days since the incident with Stella. Another six days with Addams ignoring me. My heart keeps on doing it again. The tightening in a bad way. Every time I approach him, he goes the other way and pretend I wasn’t there. My heart feels like it’s crumpled and thrown away. I think I’m sick.

Anyway, after five days of frantically looking for something decent to wear, I couldn’t find anything. Victorian themes were so not my style. And last night, my cousin Rosie came back home from her university field trip, and being the closest and the only person who understood me, I relayed to her what happened since Addams arrived and promised me that the whole day tomorrow that we would shop for clothes.

She told me that Addams was obviously crushing on me. I think he’s a faggot player. But Rosie insisted that I needed to “impress him”.

The shop we were in was out of town. It specializes in Victorian themed clothing and accessories. Rosie now had a little cart with her full of clothes that I should try on for tomorrow’s party.

“How about you try on this one. No, no. Ooh, ooh! How ‘bout this…Nah. Or maybe this one?” Rosie went on and on. This is going to be a long day.

After three and a half hours, it was already late and we still haven’t had dinner. I got out the changing room with the final set of clothing Rosie found in this shop. And I have to tell you, this shop was huge.

From in front of me, Rosie squealed in delight. “Finally, you look totally hot! Not that you didn’t look hot before. Now that I think about it, you could wear a shitte sack and still pull it off.”

Facing the mirror; I was too tired to notice what I was wearing before, but now could see why my dearest cousin was so excited. I look smokin’!

Inside, I wore a Victorian shirt with separate cuffs and collar, tucked in dark grey flat pinstripe trousers with grey leather braces. A blood red silk Victorian waistcoat covered my shirt and a black simple, yet elegant frock coat buttoned only with the top button to allow my flashy vest to be seen more. To top off my look, I wore polished black and black leather spectator spat boots with a bowler hat with the same color as my coat.

Before we left for dinner, Rosie added a golden pocket watch with a tiger engraved on it and a golden tiger head walking stick with gloves the same color as my coat and hat. And damn do I’m hot!

After sending the clothes home, we decided to eat at this expensive infamous floating restaurant that goes from country to country. It was rare to catch this mysterious cruise ship where all rich teens eat. Rosie heard from a friend’s neighbor’s cousin’s sister’s dad whose godson works at the ship that the ship will be at our place for two nights. Today was the last night of the ship before closing at midnight and moving on to their next secret place.

Women and their connections are scary.

Later on, we found the ship in the middle of the bay.

We sat down at a table for two at this candle-lit restaurant after riding a mini boat towards the ship. The table we were on had a single leg and made of glass. There was a skimpy golden tablecloth and on top was a thin glass vase with a glass rose on it. The walls and floor were made of borosilicate glass used in labs so it wouldn’t burn when anything happens.
