Mistake

I stand with the remnants of my heart shattered, by a force that goes by the name of unrequited love.

I've made too many errors to count in the past and made too many friends who persuaded me that it only made me human.

Why did I do it? Make a mistake I thought was a good decision. I'd be lying if I said it was a first time offense.

Good job me, you've found a way to take something you truly cared about and demolish it without so much as an explanation.

Who knew a man could break before he even earned the title?

Who knew that a kiss and a slap were two very different things?

I promised you all fish, and started sailing even though I knew there was a hole in the boat. The fish mattered more than me. Or at least I thought it did.

And now the carnival is over, the ferries wheel has stopped turning. The screams of children fades, and the wafting smell of sweets dies in the cool wind.

I sit in on this hill, my assassin clutched in the palm of my hand. A tear disperses on the muzzle.

A quick lift and a smil-

Somewhere a sparrow tends to her young, she guards them from the cruel monstrous hands of Death and Reality.
