The Injustice Of Silence

I'm going to leave everything out on the table.
To keep it bottled is to add insult to injury.
And nowhere could I find a place more stable
Than the canvas of white you see.

For ages I've felt a ways about you
That I've never truly felt before
I've earned a spot in your hearts, who
Am I to inhabit your core?

I'm nothing special, not glamorous or bold
Nor intelligent, cunning, handsome or regal.
I'm the one left on the curb in the cold,
Seen as a cowardly boy who is feeble.

What in me invited you closer?
What trait did you in?
I'm an unfinished roller coaster,
A carnival game you cannot win.

I was rigged from the beginning
Impossible to beat
Born a scam only capable of sinning
To change my ways would be a feat

Yet as if it were the simplest
You fixed the cracks.
Undid the damage.
Picked up the slack.
Rerailed the train.
Hit me with facts
On how I was your king
Even if I was a jack.

You picked the worst card and called it the best
A bluff in my eyes, a win in yours
I don't know what bad heart beats in your breast, but I know that your lion's pride roars.

So I guess you're stuck with me
Taking out the trash
I pray a solemn prayer this isn't a joke
And you're seconds away from dash

And yes this is for you,
For you the world I'll part
Julia, there is only one person
Who will own the key to my heart.

And fuck Cedric.
