Monday couldn't have came around quick enough. Finn would be home in 2 and half hours and I was nowhere near ready for his home coming. I had decided to throw him a party in our flat to welcome him back, I know he was only gone for a week but I suppose it was an excuse for a party. I had text his friend Alfie to invite all of Finn's friends so that was something I didn't have to worry about. All I had to do was put in place a little set up of music, food and alcohol. This took me just over an hour to do, leaving me less time to get ready. My shower took longer than expected and I had to seriously rush to get ready. I wore a simple black Cami dress with ankle strap heels. My hair went just past shoulder length so there wasn't much I could do with it, I wore it down with its usual middle parting and having it slightly waved. My make-up was just the usual, with foundation, blusher, mascara, eye-shadow and eyeliner. I was just brushing over my outfit when I heard the bell to my flat ring.
It was Alfie. He strolled in with a few of his friends. They made themselves comfortable as I started to play the music. I told them to help themselves to any food and alcohol, but they had brought their own supply of alcohol. After about 20 minutes my flat had seemed to fill up fast. Finn would be here in approximately 10 minutes so I decided to organise where people would hide for his arrival, I was then interrupted by the doorbell once again, everyone got into position as I made my way over to the door. As I opened it I was not expecting it to be any one but Finn, it was our friend Lily. I ushered her in as quick as possible as I heard the elevator doors open. Everyone was finally in position when the sound of a key turning in the lock was heard. The anticipation of the entrance was high, the figure finally opened the door and turned on the light. Everyone immediately jumped out and shouted 'surprise' which was exactly the expression Finn displayed. I ran over to him as we embraced, I didn't realise quite how much I missed him until we were held in one anothers arms. He kissed me on the forehead just before we pulled away from the hug, he thanked me for the party and then went to socialise with some friends, some he hadn't seen in a long time.
Everything was going pretty well so far, the music was great, people were dancing and there was just the right level of alcohol in our systems. The party had been on for about an hour and a half when the door bell rang. I wasn't sure on how to feel about it, I was slightly worried that it may be some neighbours coming to complain about the noise or if it were some gate crashers. I made my way to the door, sobering up slightly in preparation for the yelling at from my neighbours, that was until Lily put her hand on my shoulder.
"Sorry Liv, it's my plus one. I hope you don't mind him being this late"
"Of course not" I was so relieved it was her plus one. I was clearly not sober enough for the confrontation.
I watched her invite her plus one inside and I couldn't have been more surprised as I involuntarily made my way over to the couple.
"Customer?"
The boy I had served the other day stood at the door to my flat, he chuckled at my statement. It really was a small world. As I snapped out of my daze and realised what I was actually doing and what I said, I looked at Lily who was puzzled so I felt the need to explain.
"I served him in the shop the other day. Are you- are you his girlfriend?"
She smiled at me in response then back at him, confirming my question. I was shocked she hadn't informed me on the relationship as we had met up the other day, it must have just slipped her mind. He smiled back at her and delicately kissed her on her nose, the two then putting their attention back to me.
"Oh, well, congratulations you two. I best get back to the party. Enjoy your night"
I smiled and hurriedly escaped the awkward situation. I found myself making my way over to the table with the alcohol, picking up a cup and pouring an uneven ration of vodka to coke. I don't know what was happening to me, as much as I loved Finn I also had a feeling inside me that I wanted to be Lily when he kissed her, I felt a little jealous, and I was not impressed. As I started to pour my second drink I felt an arm snake around my waist from behind, placing desperate kisses to my neck.
