Chapter 2

"Romeo and Juliet was one of Shakespeare's most famous.....". I look at Ryder sitting at the back and taking notes, such a player. I don't why I hate him that much. I just can't stand the sight of him. Deep in my thoughts Jess nudged me because Mr Gold was staring at me. "I guess my lesson is too boring for some of you".

Oh no! What was he saying?

"I'm sorry sir. What was the question again?"

"I said, why does Juliet drink the potion?"

Umm that's easy, "So she won't have to marry Paris and can be with her love, Romeo". Geez, that was almost embarrassing.

I gaze over and see Ryder smirking at me. What the- he's smirking at who? Okay that was embarrassing.

The bell suddenly rings and I stand up and go. I start walking in the hallway when I hear footsteps catching up with me. I see someone at my side who I wasn't really expecting to talk to ever, Ryder.

"Hey, you sure were in la-la land in there". Yep totally embarrassing.

"Yeah I was thinking of a poem I've been writing and just tuned out" I said.

"Better pay attention next time. You'll have to share it with me when you're done. I'd love to read it". Is this guy really serious, since when?.

"Sure!". I replied. I nervously drop my book on the floor. I don't get it, why am I that nervous?.

"Let me get that". Ryder said, and I was shocked. Ryder hands me the book and smiles as his hand brushes mine. Is this guy for real?. But I gotta admit, I felt something when his hand brushed mine. A feeling I wouldn't want to stop. Omg what am I thinking?.

"Thanks, so you have a big game Friday right" I asked breaking the awkward silence.
"Oh yeah. They are a rough team, butvi think we have a shot. You have to come maybe you'll bring us good luck, you know" he said then winked. I feel butterflies fluttering in my stomach, I don't know why.

"So, how's Rachel doing? I haven't seen you together lately" I asked trying to change the topic, but I soon realised that it was a bad idea.
"Um...well, we broke up last week". Ask me why I'm not surprised. Once a player always a player. That's what Ryder always do, he dates girls for a week then sleeps with them, then he dumps them.

"I'm sorry, how come?". I ask in my most sympathetic tone although I don't really care. I notice Ryder turn and look nervously away. He's really cute when he does that. What am I saying??
"We just wanted different things. I'm looking for someone not so rude and stuck up". He said

"Do what makes you happy. Thats what's matters". I can't believe I'm actually having a proper conversation with the player. "So I'll see u around Ryder, I gotta go"

"Ok bye!". Pheww, I've never dreamt that in my life.

I meet my friends outside. "What took you so long? Sham was about to tell us about his cat newest trick". Stacey said, and we all threw in a fit of laughter.

Buzz!,Buzz! An incoming message. Please I hope that's not my brother texting me. He's been overprotective since he came back from college and it's really annoying. My heart skips a beat and I break out in a huge grin. "Hey what's with you?"

"Nothing,  it's just that someone invited me to the open mic night tomorrow where he'll be performing"
"Who is it?" Jesse asked.  "Well it's umm, noone" I said. Although I knew who it was, I didn't wanna let my friends just into conclusions about how he got my number because the person was Ryder Wilson.
