Beware the silence

Death of a legend

It was a silent and peaceful night for Namikaze Minato, Yondaime Hokage of Konohagakure no Sato when a chunin barged into his office "Hokage-sama!"

"Yes what is it?"

"The Kyuubi has been spotted 20 minutes away from Konoha!"

Minatos eyes went wide "What!? How is that possible?"

"I don't know sir but it's heading towards Konoha."

'What the hell is happening? The kyuubi should be sealed inside Kushina... There should be no way anybody but a seal master could break into the estate and even if someone did both Kushina and the sandaime's wife have a Hiranshin kunai so i would be alerted if there was trouble.'

While he was thinking things over he used sign language to command the Anbu in his office to sound the alarm and gather the ninja forces.

Using Hiranshin to get to the top of the Hokage monument he was greeted with the sight of Jiraya and the Sandaime Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi waiting for him.

Jiraya was the one to break the silence "Minato! How did this happen I thought the Kyuubi was sealed inside Kushina?"

" So did I but it appears something has happened. Sensei, sandaime i need you to keep the village safe while I find out what happened."

The sandaime sighed and pulled off his robes revealing his battle armor "I have protected this village for fourty years and  I will not let it fall tonight. Come Jiraya we need to organize a defense."

"Yes sensei." Jiraya said as they both shunshined away

Minato spared one last glance at the village before using Hiranshin to appear inside the Namikaze mansion

Turning a corner he was met with a horrible sight. The room in which Kushina was to have their baby was torn apart in obvious signs of struggle and the Sandaime's wife lay dead on the floor blood still spilling from the slash on her neck.

'Oh god no this can't be happening, not today' seeing the two Hiranshin kunai on the floor of the room Minato ran into his study and took the scroll for the Shiki Fuuin out of a secret compartment in his desk

'If the worst has happened and the fox is loose I'll have to use this... The six triagrams sealing style should be sufficient to hold half the power of the Kyuubi but I'll still need some time... I just hope the Sandaime and sensei can hold off the Kyuubi long enough.'

"First line prepare your jutsu, we fire on my mark! Choza! Prepare to hold it back after the first volley! Tsume, you and the rest of the Inuzuka attack in between volleys!" the Sandaime kept barking orders left and right trying to organize a defence in the limited time he had

Meanwhile Jiraya was giving a brief rundown of the strategy to Ma and Pa "So how much do we need to get Bunta and the other toads here?"

"Most will be ready to fight in another ten minutes but Gamabunta will only respond to Minato's summoning." Pa explained

"Yes well that would make sense otherwise we would be leaving Minato without a ride." Jiraya mussed 'Minato I hope you have a plan to stop the Kyuubi'

"Here it comes!" a chunin yelled

Hiruzen Sarutobi aka The Professor took a deep breath and shouted on top of his lungs "First group open fire!"
