On with the second chapter

It is the day after the kyuubi attack and the mood in Konohagakure no sato is somber. Many have lost good friends, family, lovers, spouses and the like but the entire village has lost a hokage.
Jiraya entered the hokages office and was greeted with the sight of the sandaime doing paperwork "The old nemesis returns huh sensei?"
"Not. A. Word."The sandaime glared at him "It's bad enough I had to take up the hokage mantle again I don't need you to rub the paperwork in my face."
Jiraya held up his hands in mock surrender "Sheesh sensei I'm just trying to lighten the mood a little."
"i know but I'm really stressed with the paperwork that comes with a good quarter of the village being leveled and another quarter needing repairs, besides that I'm really worried about Kushina, she's been in surgery for the last seven hours..."The sandaime sighed
"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about sensei, Kushina got out of surgery about 2 hours ago and should be waking up any minute now. Uzumaki stamina and all that."Jiraya admitted
Sarutobi blinked twice before narrowing his eyes at his student "...Then why didn't you say so!?"
"Because I wanted to crack a joke..." Jiraya admitted sheepishly
The sandaime got up and walked out of his office heading towards the hospital while muttering something about stupid clowns of students

When Kushina awoke it was arround noon and the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was the smiling faces of Tsume Inuzuka, Mikoto Uchiha and Hikari Hyuga
"Mornin' sunshine. Have a nice nap?" the Inuzuka inquired
"Hardy har har." Kushina said as she adjusted herself to a sitting position "Good to see you too Tsume."
The only reaction the statement provoked was a million megawatt grin from the inuzuka
"Where's my baby?" Kushina asked after recalling last night's events
"The little cutie's right here." said the Uchiha matriarch handing Naruto over to Kushina
"Dont worry my little Naruto, mommy's here and she's never gonna leave." Kushina said holding naruto close to her which prompted a dawww from the Uchiha and Hyuga matriarchs
Of course Jiraya and Sarutobi chose that very moment to enter the room thereby drawing all attention onto themselves
"Ah Kushina you're awake we were just coming to visit." Hiruzen explained
"It's also good to see you jiji." Kushina said with a smile drawing a 'I'm not that old' from Sarutobi which in turn caused the entire room to start laughing
After calming down Kushina spoke to Sarutobi "Now I'm assuming you didn't just come over here to see me"
"And you would be correct" sarutobi responded "I have something I need to talk to you in private"
Everyone took that as a sign to leave "Jiraya stay" Sarutobi ordered so Jiraya remained in the room and closed the door
"What did you want to talk to me about jiji?" Kushina asked
"Minatos funeral and his will." Sarutobi explained
"His will?" Kushina and Jiraya echoed at he same time
"Yes it seems he wrote a will before he set out to face the kyuubi. In it he stated that he leaves all the land and money to Kushina until Naruto is eighteen, and that Jiraya is put in charge of managing the finances, and as a side note if a Ryo is spent by Jiraya on booze or women I am to transfer all the money to a different account and give access to it only to Kushina. He also left a list of all the realestate he owns throughout the elemental countries which apparently includes a house in Suna."
"How does he have a house in Suna? " Kushina and Jiraya asked at the same time
"I have no idea." The Professor admitted
"Anyway I also have to get a few bits of information" Hiruzen continued
"Like what?" Kushina asked
"Whether you will live in Minatos house, will you take the Namikaze last name or remain a Uzumaki and whether Naruto will be a Uzumaki or a Namikaze." The sandaime answered
"I will remain in Minatos house, I will still be a Uzumaki and Naruto will be a Uzumaki with me." Kushina admitted
"Very well. Now if you don't mind I have paperwork to do." Sarutobi said as he went out of the room
"Before I go I'm supposed to tell you that the funeral will be tomorrow at five." Jiraya said before he also left the room leaving Kushina and Naruto alone
"Well Naru-kun it seems like it's just you and me from now on." Kushina gave a sad smile as she put naruto back in his crib and crawled back into bed to get some more sleep

The funeral was a depressing occasion, many fallen friends and family were mourned and their names carved into the memorial stone. All the while a light rain was falling
Kakashi Hatake, fourteen year old anbu operative and student of the yondaime hokage stood next to Kushina who was sitting in a wheelchair due to being still recovering from the surgery "Kushi-nee."
"Huh what is it Kakashi? " Kushina responded
"You know Minato-sensei was like family to me and his last order was to keep you safe... I allready failed in keeping you safe once now and I'm not going to fail again. So for security purposes I was wondering could I move in with you?" Kakashi asked tone completely neutral
"Of course you can Kakashi you're just like family to me you know that." Kushina responded while hugging him "You didn't even have to ask."
"Thank you Kushi-nee."

now I'm not gonna drag out the chibi years too long maybe two or three chapters maximum
