Chapter One

MIA

I woke up to the familiar sound of my daughter crying. Sitting up, I automatically noticed the absence of my fiancé. But that's normal nowadays. He's gone so much, But I don't complain because he works so hard, And the last thing he needs is somebody else stressing him out.

Pushing the covers off of me, I rolled out of bed. Making my way in the dark down the hallway, I entered the nursery. Jazmin immediately quieted down, Realizing her Mother had come to her rescue. I retrieved my daughter, Holding her close to me, She's so spoiled...

Making my way into the kitchen, I made her a bottle before we both settled in on the couch in the living room watching spongebob. While Jazmin drank, I ended up drifting off to sleep.

LUCAS

I looked down at my phone as I sat on the couch in the studio. It was almost three.

" 'Aight bro, Look, i'ma go, I'll come through tomorrow though"I spoke to my tech guy. He nodded and waved before I left. I been working a lot lately. My first album is about to drop, Everything has to be perfect...

I arrived at the crib just before three thirty. As I entered, I spotted my fiancé and daughter laid out on the couch. Spongebob
played on the T.V. Mia was knocked, But Jazmin laid calmly. She's like her Daddy, She don't sleep. At first, We thought that it was just because she was new, But I know what it is.

I scooped Jaz into my arms. I took her bottle before covering Mia with a blanket. Me and Jazmin went into her room.

I laid her down in her crib, Initially, She was okay, But as soon as I turned around, She started whining. I turned back around and hovered over her, She immediately quieted down. I'd realized, I didn't kiss her goodnight ( good morning really- Wait, What's my infant daughter doing up at this time? ) I shrugged it off and leaned down. I gently kissed her forehead, Moving her loose curls.

"I Love you"I said as I stood. It was a real good moment. Until I tried to walk away again and she started whining. So I attempted to continue, Hoping she'd let me go, But she wasn't taking No for an answer. She just cried louder. And I didn't want her to wake Mia up, So I gave in. I took her to bed with me. She eventually fell asleep, But I didn't, I couldn't. Usually, I'd smoke a blunt or two, And I'd be out, But I stopped smoking for Jazmin. The things you do for Love...
