The sun shone high up in the sky with white fluffy clouds and a gentle breeze blowing Draco's blonde hair back. With a green leash in his hand, he walked along side with his dog Dexter, a Border Collie. They walked around the park calmly until Dexter started running for no reason and pulled Draco with him. "Calm down boy!" Draco yelled as the leash escaped his hand. Dexter knocked over a young lady to the ground spilling her paper everywhere. "I'm so sorry!" Draco exclaimed picking up the papers, suddenly he caught a glimpse of the lady's face,"Granger?"
The lady turned to him and squinted her eyes at him, "do I know you?"
"Granger, it's me, Draco."
Hermione scowled, "what are you doing here?"
Draco smirked grabbing the dog's leash, "I'm walking my dog."
Hermione, who was still on the floor, rolled her eyes. "I meant, why are you in the muggle world?"
"Oh that." He stretched a hand to help her up which she reluctantly took. "I was tired of the ministry constantly watching over my shoulder. I started a business here after I missed someone that I never thought I'd miss. I actually live on the building in front of here. You can always stop by if you need anything, it gets lonely. Even if I have Dexter here." He petted the dog's head as they walked.
"Why are you being nice?" Hermione asked curiously.
"Well, I guess I've changed. What about you? Have you changed? Are you still with the Weasel?"
Hermione shook her head lightly, "Ron cheated on me multiple times and Harry found out but didn't tell me because he thought Ron should. I moved to the muggle world and it's just me against the world now." She shuffled the papers on her hand sighing.
"What are those papers about?"
Hermione hugged them close to her, "it's nothing important."
"They have the St.Mungos stamp on them, are you sure it's nothing important?" Draco kept eyeing the papers curious to see what they were about.
"I'm sure Malfoy." She began to walk faster but Draco grabbed her shoulder for her to slow down.
"Sorry." He mumbled. "Hey do you want to go grab a bite? That truck sells some pretty good pizza."
Hermione shrugged and followed him to the truck. She got her money out to pay but he payed for her, "Malfoy, I can pay for myself."
He turned to her giving her te pizza and her water, "Granger, it's fine. I'm still rich you know." They went to sit down at a picnic table with Hermione following right behind. Draco took off his backpack taking out a two small bowls for his dog's water and food.
Hermione took a small bite of her pizza and smiled, "this is great pizza!"
"Told you." Draco chuckled winked at her playfully.
"You're not as bad as I remember." Hermione pointed out before taking another bite of her pizza.
"Yeah but that's because I got tired of people like me. Everyone, even some of my friends, started criticising me and blaming me." He shook his head and looked down at his pizza then at Dexter. "Dexter here has kept me sane. Isn't that right buddy?" Dexter looked over at him and licked his cheek, "Dexter is my best mate now."
"What happened to Zabini?"
Draco sighed sadly, "Blaise stopped visiting a while ago. It's hard to find people to talk to nowadays. Dexter is great company but sometimes I just want someone to talk to."
Hermione nodded in agreement, " I get it. After I left to come here, I didn't have anyone. At least I have my neighbour Cindy." Hermione looked over at her watch and frowned with disappointment, "I have to get going. I never thought of saying this but it was good talking to you." She took her papers and stood up.
