"So what you're trying to say is that, Cecilia is bad?" Vanessa asked, clearly she doesn't understand a thing that Alexia is trying to tell her.
"Not really bad, but there's something. I mean, I think she's trying to ruin my life with Eugene."
"Finally! About time you figured it out." Vanessa said, with a grin in her face.
"Listen Ness, Cecilia is a childhood friend. And I just hope that it stays like that, and I can still be the girlfriend."
Yes. A childhood friend, but sometime's friends turn to lovers. And what Cecilia and Eugene had when they were kids was way out of reach of Alexia. Whatever Cecili and Eugene shared before was none of Alexia's business. Which made her feel more incomplete and unsure of her self.
"All I'm trying to say is that, while you're here with me drinking hot cocoa, Cecilia is taking care of Eugene. Which is the thing you should be doing. Am I right?"
"You don't get it, Eugene treats me like I'm nothing but an acquiantance. Or a former schoolmate. Or the girl he had lunch with for the past school year. Not the girlfriend that he loved."
Alexia quickly jumped out of her seat, dragged her things with her. She can't help but to let those tears fall in her face, and she can't let Vanessa see her cry once again. Nevermore.

The only place that Alexia could think of going to is the Sycamore tree, their Sycamore tree. Where she and Eugene started everything. Where they made a promise of being together forever and protecting each other. A promise that made their love even stronger.
A cold evening, like that time when they were out here, walking side by side. The only thing that kept Alexia warm back then was Eugene. But now, all she can feel is the cold air brushing through her hair. Only to find out, Eugene's at the Sycamore tree with Cecilia. What were they doing? That was Alexia & Eugene's place. No, Alexia doesn't want to know. She'd seen too much, and it breaks her heart with every second she was there.
Promises were meant to be broken, isn't it? Not just broken, but shattered into pieces. Like a glass, you can never bring back the pieces back together agian, but maybe you can but it will never be as perfect as it was before.

"I should have looked around, instead of running away."
These are the words running deep in her mind, she keeps blaming herself that it's her fault. And she can't do anything to turn it back around. If only she could accept the fact that there won't be a Eugene and Alexia anymore. That the person she loved her whole life, will be much better with Cecilia.
Alexia doesn't know if she has the right to feel angry or jealous. But heck, she does have every right. Life became so unfair to her ever since from the accident. All she wants is to have her simple and normal life back again. Luckily, Jeff is back in her life again. He's just a friend, a helpful and caring friend. The one who made her happy in the times that she was alone and helpless. Alexia treats him more like an older brother.
"Hey Lexi, what are you up to now? I'm back here in town. Call me, if you have time." Jeff's text messgae, early in the morning. Of course, Alexia didn't think twice to call him or not. At this kind of time, Alexia really needs someone that can cheer her up.
--
"You're late! As always." Alexia said in her playful tone.
"Woah, you missed me that much, didn't you?" Jeff said, hugging her tightly.
"Not really, we just saw each other last few months."
"Well, I missed you, alot."
Alexia feels it, she can't deny it either. Somehow, she feels so happy and so much more like herself when she's with Jeff. Let's just say that she has mixed feelings with Jeff. And that's what she's afraid of. She still hasn't cleared things with her problems with Eugene. She feels that she's cheating on Eugene if ever she felt something with Jeff.
"Well, I missed you, alot."
Jeff's words echo in her thoughts. All she wants is to let those words escape her mind.
"Give your heart a break, Alexia. Let me fix it for you. Please."
Jeff held Alexia's hand. Why is Alexia so vulnerable? Tears stream down her face, she feels so sorry for herself. Slowly, she rests her head in Jeff's shoulder.
"I'm sorry. I can't let you do that." Alexia said, in between the sobs of cry.
"I totally understand, but I can ease the pain. I can make it go away. Please, Alexia. I'm sorry, but it hurts me to see you so miserable, chasing someone who doesn't even remember you."
Somehow, Jeff is so used to this feeling. He lets himself to be Alexia's comforter. Jeff manages to let Alexia cry on his shoulders everytime she needs to, and it hurts him even more. It makes the feelings of Jeff to Alexia even more stronger.
When everything cools down a bit. Everything turns bakc to the way it was. Like nothing happened, that where Alexia is good at. Turning away.
"You feeling better? Now can I talk to you?" Jeff asked her, tilting her head.
"I'm sorry. Sure."
"Remember the thing you asked me the last time we saw each other?"
Yes. Alexia clearly remembers. It was about her father. She had the slightest hint that may lead her to her father. A few months ago, Jeff and her mother, Dr. Amanda conducted a Medical Mission in the State Prison. Jeff went through the Medical Files of the inmates, unexpectedly he saw this one file in particular. Williams, Alexander. He didn't have that much time to see the informations about that person. But, Jeff managed to take a snpashot of the picture attached in the folder.
"Yeah, about him. Well, did you find anything?"
"Yes, actually nothing. But, I took a picture. Is that him?" Jeff showed Alexia the picture in his phone. Alexia felt something, she doesn't know what. But maybe it's because it really was her father. The father that abandoned them before.
"Yes, and that person made our lives a living hell."

A/N: I'm sorry that it took me such a long time to update. It's just that, I'm still in my mourning period. And I had that feeling of not wanting to update anymore and to erase all of my stories. LOL :)
