Her Unexpected Attachment

Katelynn had fished out Laxus's coat. She held it up looking at it with a confused expression. she then flick it removing the dust that was on it, sniffed it, then looked at Laxus tilting her head to the side as though she was about to say something, then suddenly she gave a mischievous smile, and put the coat on and crouched down still staring at Laxus as if daring him to do something. Laxus was slightly annoyed that she had taken his coat but his inner dragon  was telling him to tread carefully. SO he slowly walked over to Gajeel, keeping his eyes on Katelynn who watched him with a amused look, once he was by Gajeel, Laxus said "What the hell is she doing? Why did she put my coat on?" Gajeel shrugged saying "It's probably because you're the strongest dragon slayer here, that or it's your scent.Since she keeps taking deep breaths through her nose I'm going with your scent." Laxus finally looked away from Katelynn and raised a brow at Gajeel asking "What do you mean my scent?" Gajeel gave him a bored look saying "From what she told me while we where children, Her first set of dragons. A mated pair their names were Electra and Frost, the Lightning dragon and the Ice/Snow dragon. Electra smelled of rain, while Frost had a piney smell. It's why she would wonder the woods when it rained it comforted her after they left. And since you smell a bit of both she likes your smell, but since she's not too sure of you yourself, she found the next best thing, which is your coat." Laxus just stared at Gajeel shocked then something moved in his peripheral vision, he turned his head to see Katelynn right next to him. Laxus jumped a little startled by her closeness and sudden appearance. the Thunder God Tribe had finally got over the shock of some random girl taking their leaders coat. Freed being the first to say anything stomped over yelling "You! Katelynn or whatever Take off Laxus-sama's coat this instance! Who do you think you are!!!???" Katelynn stopped staring at Laxus and turned to Freed and snarled loudly.   Lightning flashing around her as she continued to snarl and growl. Freed froze mid-step, Gramps then said "Gajeel calm her down now!! before she destroys the guild farther than it already is!" Gajeel shook his head saying "Not a chance Gramps, I'm not stupid. I've been stuck by her lightning before it hurts worse than Laxus's. I won't be able to get five from her before I'm electrocuted." LAxus then said "What's the fasted way to calm her?" Gajeel looked at him wide eyed before saying "playing with her hair." Laxus just shrugged and walked up to her, She didn't look at him but seemed to know he was there. He quickly picked her up bridal style which startled Katelynn making her lightning disappear, as she was once again staring up at Laxus. Laxus quickly found a a place to sit that wasn't in the middle of the room, He sat down cross legged with Katelynn in his lap undid her hair and began to re-braid it. Katelynn visibly relaxed. Gajeel then turned to Freed saying "You are an idiot." Freed got angry saying "Pardon me, but I'm quite intelligent." Laxus scoffed catching Freed's attention, Laxus was looking at Freed with a annoyed look, the said "Freed, there was a reason I didn't freak out that she had picked up my coat." Freed paled then stuttered "W-w-what do you mean Laxus-sama?" Laxus rolled his eyes saying "You saw her earlier, you saw her abilities. And right now she's running on her dragonic instincts only. You coming at her angrily could have cost  you your life. You never angrily approach any kind of  predator, they automatically see you as a threat and will kill you if necessary. Katelynn here is the strongest being I've come across since the seven dragons incident three years ago." Freed stared wide eyed as Katelynn curled up against Laxus and had fallen asleep. Gajeel chuckled saying "This will be funny when she wakes up later." Laxus rolled his eyes saying "come get her, I'd like to get a beer." Laxus stood handing Katelynn to Gajeel, Katelynn whimpered a little but snuggled into Laxus's coat and calmed down again. Everyone stared at the girl, just moments ago she was the most frightening thing they'd ever see, now she's curled up like a kitten letting out a soft purr like snore. Gajeel chuckled. Gramps looked at him in confusion asking "What you laughing at?" Gajeel chuckles again saying "Just how she can go from being the scariest thing in the universe to this. She a complicated girl, not many knows just how complicated. For someone as kind and caring as she is it's surprising how horrible her past is." Lucy took a interest now asking "What do you mean by that Gajeel?". Gajeel sighed.
