Together Again

Chapter 1

Nash's POV

"Boys come down here." My mom called up the stairs.

My brother Hayes and I rushed down the stairs.

"Yes mom?" I replied.

"Well I got a new babysitter for Skylynn and Hayes and she starts tonight!"

"What about Nash?!" Hayes complained.

He was 13, he surely felt like he was old enough.

"Nash is 16 Hayes. He can drive places he wants to. I got a babysitter so Nash doesn't need to drag y'all along."

Just then there was a knock at the door.

My mom opened it revealing the most beautiful girl in the world.

She had curly bleach blonde hair down to her waist and icy blue eyes.

"Hello Deedee. This is Nash my oldest around here. Then you've got Hayes he's 13 and Skylynn who is 4. You'll take care of them."

"Why thank you Mrs. Grier I'm sure we'll have a great time." She smiled.

And with that mom left.

"Sup." I said to her.

She laughed.

"I'm so not your type." She continued to laugh," But hi I'm Deedee, I'm 16."

Hayes started laughing and I made my way up the stairs.

Damn. I've known the girl two minutes and she doesn't like me and Hayes has a HUGE crush on her.

Deedee's POV

"So Hayes, take me to see Skylynn?" I said swinging my arm across his shoulder.

"Sure." He smiled at me.

Awe ain't he just the cutest ever!

"Hello Skylynn!" I smiled at her.

She came up and hugged me.

I picked her up and held her in me arms.

We sat around and talked for a little while when she spoke up.

"Hayes likes Deedee! Hayes likes Deedee!" She sang.

"No I don't!" He replied.

"Yes you do!" She giggled.

"No I don't!" He said standing up.

"Give it a rest Skylynn. And Hayes, we all know it's true!" Nash said walking into the room.

Hayes just ran away.

Up to his room I guess.

"Why are you so mean to your little brother?"

"That's what older brothers are for!"

"No, older brothers are supposed to care for you, love you, laugh with and at you, and occasionally be mean. Not all the time!"

"What do you know about brothers?! You're probably an only child!"

"Well I have a brother thank you very much. But I don't see him anymore because he lives with my mom in California."

"Well then." He said walking into the kitchen.

"Sky go with Nash. I'm gonna check on Hayes."

I put her down and she ran into the kitchen.

I got up off the couch and headed upstairs.

I walked into Hayes's room and saw him lying on his bed.

"Hey buddy." I said from the doorway.

"Go away..." He whimpered.

"No I'm right here." I said sitting on the edge of the bed.

He sat up and looked at me.

"I want to be alone."

His cheeks were wet and his eyes were red.

"Have you been crying?!"

He nodded.

I scooted closer to him.

"Come here." I said opening my arms and patting my lap.

Hayes crawled over and sat on my lap facing me, with one leg on each side of mine. He rested his head on my upper chest.

I wrapped one arm around him and the other I placed on his head, rubbing my fingers through his hair.

You would think that having him sit on my lap like this would like suffocate me or something.

Not really. I'm 5'10" and Hayes is about 5'2", so I'm quite a bit taller.

I hugged him tight.

"Don't let your siblings get to you okay?" I said pulling him back to look at him.

He nodded.

I grabbed his head and kissed his forehead.

"All better?" I asked.

He smiled and nodded.

"Then get back down there and play some video games with me okay?" I smiled at him.

"I'll beat ya down there!" He shouted getting off my lap.

I jumped up and we both ran out of the room.
