Setting the stage: remember this glorious scene?
Stiles: someone needs to have sex with me right now
Danny: okay I'll do it
Stiles: woah ... what
Danny: come over to my place at nine; plan to stay the night. I like to cuddle
Stiles: that was so sweet are you kidding?
Danny: yes. I'm kidding
Stiles: yknow you don't toy with guys emotions, Danny; it's not attractive
Later, during Lacrosse practise ...
'Do you really think I'm not attractive?' Stiles heard a shy voice ask. He whipped around, surprised, coming face to face with Danny. 'Danny?!' he asked, uneasy about how close the boy was standing to him; he was sure he hadn't heard right. 'Do you really think I'm unattractive?' he reiterated, his dark brown eyes softening with tones of insecurity. Stiles' heart went out to him: how could it not when Danny was staring at him like that? 'I ... I mean – ophff!'. The ball thudded into his chest. Hard.
Conversation forgotten, Stiles clutched his chest and glared up towards whoever threw the shot, wearing his trademark look of pain and anger. His gaze was met by Scott, pulling off his mask and jogging up to him, pulling him into a hug; remorse in his voice as he apologised to his friend.
'Werewolf powers still working then?' joked Stiles, rubbing his chest. 'Yeah sorry just lost focus for a moment' replied Scott, his eyes drifting over Stiles' shoulder. Stiles shot him a confused glance and turned to see what his friend was looking at, but all he could see was Danny, back in position tending goal, apparently very interested in the netting on his stick.
'Come on' said Scott, turning back to Stiles 'we'd better get going again or Coach will have a fit'. Stiles followed him as they trudged back to mid field, but something was weighing on his mind, and it definitely wasn't lacrosse strategy. He was certain that Danny was referencing their conversation in the locker room earlier, but why would he care? And why did he look so nervous? He rubbed his chest and shot a side glance at Scott, hunched and ready for Coach's starting whistle. He could have sworn that he saw a hint of something alien in his friend's eyes when he looked at Danny. 'Phweeefffffff!'. The whistle brought Stiles out of himself; shaking his head to clear his overactive mind, he launched into play, sprinting forward and slamming into Greenberg as they jostled for the ball.
Jealousy. He had seen his best friend's eyes filled with jealousy, consumed by the hateful emotion. But in true Stiles fashion, he wouldn't realise that until it was too late. (Dun dun duuuunnnnnn)

'Ok huddle up!' yelled Coach after a gruelling three hours of practice. 'Some of you' he began, looking around the gathering of students 'have real talent out there' he nods at Scott 'some of you, however, suck! Not looking at anyone in particular, but Greenberg, my grandmother can run faster than you, and she's dead! And not to mention ...'. With this started Coach's usual post training rant, so Stiles decided to tune out and do something more important, like practising the for chemical symbols for the elements of the periodic table (YES I DID I'M SORRY). After about five minutes of solid yelling Coach had worn himself out 'What are you still doing here?! Get the hell outta my sight you whiney little deviants!'.
Stiles grabbed his bottle and chucked Scott's behind him, knowing that his werewolf senses couldn't possibly drop it. Even in the dark. When its five feet away from him. Show off. Stiles gave a little smirk as he heard an 'urkh' from his friend as he dived to catch it. 'Come on Wolf boy lets hit the showers' he called over his shoulder, spinning to walk backwards as Scott caught up to him. 'You gotta stop doing that' panted Scott. 'Why?' asked Stiles, his head tilted in that adorably cocky manner 'you're a super human and I can't have a little fun?'. Scott huffed 'I thought sarcasm was your only defence?' he quirked his eyebrow and smirked. Stiles let out a snort and looped his arm around Scott's shoulders as they entered the school. He loved this easy back and forth they had, and he knew that it was the reason that Scott felt like home; safe and comfortable.
