I knew where I was heading, I was heading to my cousin Allison's funeral when me and Allison where little we would do everything together we would practice our archery and close combat together.

I was pulled from my thoughts when my father put his  hand on my shoulder  "You OK Abi" he asked I shrugged him off as I looked out the car window we had just pulled up outside  Allison and  uncle Chris's house, I got the car and slung my bag over my shoulder and trudged up to the house where uncle Chris was waiting with a grim look on his face I nodded my hello to him and went to my room to unpack I stopped on the stairs to listen to what my father was saying to chris " Hello brother, I'm sorry about Abi she's been like that the whole way here poor girl " my father said to chris I rolled my eyes and carried on towards my room.
"I understand Jeremy Abi has not only lost her cousin but her best friend and I lost my daughter" I heard Chris say his voice sounded ruff like he hadn't slept in weeks and was filled with sadness. I unpacked my bags and fell to my bed with a thud my room was opposite the room which was Allison's.
Mine and Allison's parents had basically brought us up as sisters but when I had to move to England after my mothers death everything changed,   Allison and I had kept in touch but she had  became distant, I felt like she was hiding something from me. I rolled over on my bed so I was lying on my belly when a letter lying on my pillow caught my eye I immediately realised the writing was Allison's and opened it to read

Abi

If you are reading this  then I am truly sorry, you where my best friend and sister I want you to know that me dying won't be all bad you will recover from this stronger than you where before but I need to entrust you with something I didn't tell you before  all these years because I thought I was keeping you safe.

When your mother died it wasn't a accident your father had her killed because she discovered a dark side to him she tried to escape from him with you but your father found out what she was up  to and killed her. I found out a month after you left for England I tried to get my grandfather to bring you back here for your safety but he said that Jeremy wasn't evil or bad, I also need you to stay with my father he has no one now that I am gone We also have a new code we go by I think you'll like it Nous protégeons ceux qui ne peuvent pas se protéger eux-mêmes ( we protect those who can not protect themselves)

I have also left friends and my one true love behind who will need your help, I know you don't like using your gift of manipulating the elements but a time will come where you WILL have to use them. My one true love is a werewolf his name is Scott he will need your strength now I'm gone. Abi  you need to start trusting your instincts again I will always be with you. In your heart you know what to do.

All My Love

Allison xx

P.S. I made some improvements to your bow and arrows you keep here

I reclosed the letter and wiped away the tears what where falling from my face when Chris knocked on my open door he immediately came in and sat beside me on my bed
" I see you found the letter what did it say " he asked and put a arm round me I looked back to him
" It said what happened really to my mother all those years ago and that I should start trusting  my instincts again" I replied and looked down to my hands "and what are your instincts telling you to do now " chris asked I thought about it before I answered " their telling me to stay with you and help her friends when my father leaves" I said confidently  realising that my instincts where right, I had to stay and smiled I looked at chris who nodded "your father already left Abi your safe now " he said and pulled me into a hug,  that's when all the things hit me and I broke down in my uncles arms.
finally safe I looked at him with worried eyes "don't worry I've enrolled you at beacon hills high " he said and left my room I sat on my bed alone processing everything that had happened. I got up and pulled out my running gear and quickly changed into it running had always helped me clear my head and at this current time I had to clear it, I walked downstairs to see chris ordering takeout pizza I quickly mouthed that I was going for a run which Chris put his thumb up to and headed out the front door  grabbing my phone on the way out.
