A Dragon Age Inquisition fanfic: Cole X Reader

Part 4: The Team

As Solas walked me out of the room I got an uneasy feeling. The room connected to the one I was in was a very large hallway that stretched at least 10 feet to my left and right. The room is made out of wood that is redish brown and there is a built in fire place across from my room burning bright with logs.

"Don't worry you'll be safe here," Solas says looking around, "You don't have to worry about the demons anymore as long as we are around."

"We?" We walk out of the large hallway out to a courtyard.

In the courtyard are trees, bushes and grass along a pathway. Across the way there is a group of people chatting and conversing with eachother. There is a large man with horns with almost grayish-blue skin, a normal looking man, but he has armor and a large black beard, a woman who has short hair and is also wearing armor, and Cole the boy from earlier. Solas and I walk down the path made with red brick and it's cold under my bare feet.

"Hi everyone, our guest has finally gotten well enough to walk outside," Solas says walking up to the group.

"Hi welcome, my name is Iron Bull," the man with the horns says holding out his hand. I don't shake it though because I'm still weary about who these people are and what they want from me.

"Okay..." he said lowing his hand.

"Hey, my name is Cassandra. Nice to meet you."

"Name's Blackwall," the man with the beard says and nods toward me.

"I'm sure you already know who this is," Iron Bull chuckles putting is hand on Cole's shoulder, making Cole look down shyly and slightly blush. I nod and look at him which causes him to blush more and look away.

"However, we never got your name because of your wound," Cassandra says looking at me with a raised eyebrow.

I look over at her and say, " Um nice to meet you. My name is (Y/N). Why am I here?"

"You're here because Cole, here," Iron Bull taps his shoulder, "Says you're special and that we need you for something big coming up."

I look at Solas confused and say, "What is he talking about?"

"Um, I'll explain later, but for now I'm sure you're hungry. So who's hungry?"

"I'm starved," Iron Bull chuckles patting his stomach.

"I could eat," says Cassandra.

"Same here," agrees Blackwall.

"Hmm," Cole says nodding still looking down.

.....ts (time skip)

As Solas pulled pulled out a chair for me I got a good look at my surroundings. To my left I had the boy named Coke and to my right I had the woman named Cassandra. I was sitting in a small room with a round table and chairs. The room was also made of the redish brown wood that made up the hall I went down with Solas.

"Well everyone, you may eat," says Solas as he sits down.

In front of me there are potatos that are steaming, a salad complied of cabbage, tomatoes, and small purpleish strips or something that I'm not familiar of. Lastly on the table is a large pig with an apple in it's mouth. Being a vegetarian I reached for the salad spoon first, but when I went to grab it my hand touched Cole's he pulled his hand away fast and put it in his lap. I look at him and he looks back, but then looks away.

"I'm so s-sorry," he says quietly, " You can have it first."

"Oh, okay thanks. I'm sorry, too." I reach for the spoon and quickly serve myself and push it towards him.

"Here," I say offering a warm smile.

"Thanks," he says shyly smiling. As the dinner went on I could get glimpses of Cole's eyes looking at me, but every time I looked at him he would look down at his plate and pretend he wasn't looking at him. One time he touched my leg lightly with his, but he couldn't tell so I didn't move my leg. There's something about him that cause my heart to flutter every touch or glance he did at me. I couldn't help to blush some of the times he asked me to pass the salad or the water jug that Cassandra got from the kitchen.
