Chapter 5: car crash.
The next day I woke up early.
I had a lot to do.
Today was the first day of school. The most important day of the year. On the first day everyone dressed (or tried to dress) amazingly. The rest of the year one could dress like a douchebag and no one would care or notice. The first day, first impressions were made.
And also, Olly was gonna be there, obviously.
At the kitchen table we had to discuss the matter about Edgar.
"I vote no stay," I said flatly.
"Why no-ot?" Emilio whined.
"Because, in case you didn't remember, that thing creeped into my room last night and scared the hell outta me!!"
My mom gasped.
"Helena, do not use that kind of language in this house!" she said.
"Fine, do you want me to go outside and then say it?" I replied feeling like a smart-ass. "Besides, hell isn't even a swear word!"
I took a last bite and headed outside. Olly surprised me by being right there, at my doorstep and waiting for me. I noticed that even though he was the new kid in town, he knew about the dress-up rule for the first day of school. Maybe it was the same way in his old school?
"Oh hi Olly," I said shyly.
"Hey Helena, want a ride?" he asked as he smiled broadly.
"Sure, where's your car? Oh, by the way, good morning," I blushed and tucked a strand of hair of mine behind my ear.
"It's that one, over there,"he said as he pointed to a black Mercedes.
"Wow, fancy!" I smiled to him.
"Yeah, I've been saving up a lot of money since I was young. I decided to spend it on this beauty! I've been working a summer job, so that helped me. Now that I moved, I have to find one 'cause my parents aren't willing to give me monthly pay anymore," he chuckled.
I listened and probably stared at him.
"Wow, you're so complicated... Wait, did I just say that out loud?" I wondered.
He laughed.
"Don't worry about that, worry about the time we have to get to school,"
"Oh, right! It starts in... twenty minutes or so. We better hurry up!" I agreed.
He drove and we had a pretty nice and friendly conversation, nothing special going on. Until the unthinkable happened.
"Peek-a-boo!"
We both scream and Olly loses control of the wheel, us crashing into a tree.
"I'm okay!" says the same voice that made us crash.
Olly turns around, furious. I turn around, but instead shocked and curious.
It was...
Of course.
Little Twat.
"What the hell was THAT for? You nearly killed us! And how did you get in the car anyways?!" he screams, red.
"I wanted to see what ninth grade was like, so I got in. I thought it would be funny to scare you, and it actually was," she giggled.
Oh. My. GOD!
"What the HELL, Esther?! What were you thinking?! And HOW are we supposed to get to school NOW?!!" he yells.
I think I fainted at this point, because everything went black.
