Blaise POV-
The tour seemed to pass by quickly. The camp was brilliant. And the design, just—wow.

However, although it seemed to pass by quickly, it actually took quite a while. By the time we finished, the dinner bell rang. (I know this because thats what Chiron told me.)

He let us to the dinner Pivalion? I think? Then, we were instructed to sit at the Zeus table with Thalia, who was not yet there.

She arrived a few minutes after us, laughing with some other kid.

As she sat down though, her laughter died and she looked annoyed again. She sat there, twiddling her thumbs, while we sat across from her looking out of place.

It felt so weird being out of school robes during the school year. But it felt even weirder being in a new place. Especially one like this.

"Uh," I asked, breaking the silence. "Do you know when we get our food?"

I haven't had food sense breakfast, and my stomach couldn't help but remind me.

A kid with badly died hair that wore a lot of black sat down next to Thalia, with his arms folded in a way that said: If you so much as talk to me Ill rip you to shreds.

"Hey Death Breath." Thalia greeted.

"Pinecone face." Death breath—?—said, as if saying hello.

"Is there a reason you decided to sit next to me?"

"Nope." He said.

"Okay." She shrugged.

"So who are these lucky bastards who got to stay with the lovely Thalia?"

"Brat, shadow, and moody." She said, nodding at first Pansy, me, then Ron.

Shadow?

"Nice nicknames." He said.

"Thanks, I try." Thalia said.

"So." He said, talking to us this time. "Don't be an a&&, and we wont have a problem. Got it?"

"Cristal clear." I said.

Ron scoffed, and Pansy looked betrayed. Oh well.

"Im Nico by the way." He said, "Son of Hades. You know who Hades is, right?"

"God of death and the underworld. Sounds like a great dad." I said.

His nickname makes some sense now.

Nico scoffed and said, "None of them are good parents."

"So true." Thalia agreed.

"How come?" I asked.

"We're pawns on their chess board. F**king A**holes." Thalia said.

"That sucks. I know what you mean though, just not as drastically." I said, then switching to a highpitch voice. "Tell the mudbloods this Blaise. Tell that that. Put this in their drink Blaise, do the dark lord proud."

"Served them right." Pansy said, "Dumb mudbloods tainting the blood pool."

"Shut the merlin up Pansy. We don't decide who lives and who dies. We're not savages." I said, gearing at Pansy.

"You've got the right mind set." Nico said. "But you still have to be prepared to kill."

"Just like we were." Pansy said.

"No, not like them. Like us." Thalia said.

"You've killed before?" Ron asked.

"Yes. On several occasions." Thalia said. "Most of us have. I think you've forgotten that we've been in wars. And war makes murderers."

Ron almost said something else, but Chiron said something first.

"Good evening everyone." He said, standing at a podium. "I know your all concerned about the visitors, but you'll have to get used to them. One more wizard will be joining us as well. I hope you treat him kindly. He will be joining us tomorrow evening."

The campers protested, but Chiron silenced them by holding up his hand.

"I think you'll like him." He said, "He could certainly use your patience and kindness. All of them could. So please, teach them respect, and teach them well. You've all fought a war, and now its time to have another. But this time, it will be a mental war. And who will win? Your hatred? Or the expectance that all of you wish the rest of the world gave you? Its your war to fight, and your war to win. So who's side are you rooting for?"
