On Friday evening, Kiba comes over. Uninvited, as always. "What have you guys been up to?" he asks upon entrance. "Touchin' tips?"

"You're hilarious," Sasuke says dryly and Kiba winks in response.

"We weren't doing anything like that," I add. "We were just talking." Which is true!

"Everyone thinks it's pretty weird," he continues, "but at the same time everyone kind of thinks that you guys were always gay for one another and that's why you were such assholes to each other."

"Hardly," I mutter. The whole thing was the slowest progression. It was definitely not love at first sight.

"So," Kiba claps his hands together, "Let's do something."

"Like...?" I trail off expectantly.

"Up to you," he says. "It's your house."

I press my lips together in thought before shrugging and saying, "Let's watch a movie, then."

The three of us relocate to the basement. The two of them sit on opposite ends of the sofa while I suggest movies. We finally settle for Disturbia and I sit in the middle, separating them both.

When the movie is over, Kiba checks the time on his phone. "I should head home," he says. "My parents are going to get pissy if I miss dinner."

"Fair enough," I say.

"I should leave as well," Sasuke adds.

"Want me to walk you?" I offer.

"Sure," he accepts with a tired sort of smile and Kiba watches the exchange of words silently.

The three of us go back upstairs and slip into our shoes before leaving. We start down the street, chattering away the entire time. When we reach Sasuke's driveway, I give him a brief kiss and we part.

"See yah, princess," Kiba waves.

"Dog," Sasuke retorts before disappearing inside.

I shake my head, but I'm glad Sasuke and Kiba aren't attacking each other anymore. They're probably doing it for my sake, but I'm thankful either way.

"I'll walk the rest of the way with you," I tell Kiba.

"Thanks," he winks at me.

I stare up at the sky. It's getting dim, but the weather is just as mild as ever. I take my cellphone out of my pocket and text Sasuke to make sure he's feeling fine. I can't really ask him things like that and expect an honest answer when Kiba is around. Besides, before he barged in we were talking about some pretty heavy stuff – mainly Sasuke's self-worth... or lack thereof. Itachi has also returned home, but Sasuke says he seems fine again, which is relieving. He said that Kisame has been taking him out a lot and they've been doing normal things. Normalcy is good. Kisame has taken a leave from work in lieu of taking care of Itachi. I guess it's true... he really does love him.

"So, where's Hinata today?" I ask once I finish typing the message.

"She's off with Ino and Sai," he says with a forlorn sigh. "They're working on some boring final project for their art class."

"Dull," I add my two cents.

"I'll say," he agrees.

Me and Kiba never really had talent when it came to art. We mostly just fucked around in first year art class. When it was time to sculpt, we both made dicks out of clay. The teacher didn't find it as funny as we did. We both passed the class with D's and the teacher suggested we take another route in the future – one less artistic.
