Hmm..so I just want your opinion on Carter.
See Carter is this boy that summer met at a coffee shop about two months after Freddy going into his coma.
They hit it off and after like two dates Carter asked out Summer, she said he's because she really liked him.
Carter gets along great with her kids (which you will see in future parts) and he's super nice and treats her well.
Now I know everyone wants Seddy again but hear me out, I just want this topic understood.
Freddy basically wasn't the best husband/boyfriend in this story. He never noticed summer, and made her feel like she was worthless.
Summer had to change herself in order to try and get noticed by him. Her opinion on herself changed for the worst dramatically.
Freddy wasn't planning on ending up with Summer. After his coma his mom took his hinges back from summer and Freddy's house and now summer lives with her two kids and Carter.
So the point of this story is summers journey through her relationship with Freddy. But something needs to change for it to be a good book. So she can't make up a bunch of plans in order to get Freddy again. That's just a a repeat.
So without spoiling any of the other chapters I'll sum it up.
Freddy liked a girl that wasn't Summer in high school, basically. And when Summer admitted she used to like Freddy it was huge mess and Freddy decided to lure her back in.
They got married but he wasn't the best husband. He wasn't mean but he just didn't seem interested in the marriage.
