We pulled up outside of my mother's apartment and all was quiet except for the soft hum of the engine. I was trying to decide what I should say.

In the end, I decided to just get out of the car and help Juyeon out.

I helped Juyeon out of the booster seat and grabbed the shopping from the boot of the car.

Now that I look at the car better, I realised how new it was. I guess he must be doing well at the office to be able to afford something so nice and new.

"Eunmi..." I hadn't even realised that Hoseok had stepped out of the car and was stood next to me.

"Thanks Hoseok for the coffee but I really need to go in and check on my mother." I turn around and start walking towards the apartment entrance with Juyeon in tow.

I could sense his eyes were on me until I disappeared through the entrance. I called for the elevator and got in. I pressed for the 6th floor and leaned against the back wall, letting out a big sigh.

I've been in Seoul one day and I'm already kind of regretting my decision.

We got off the elevator and I unlocked the door and all of sudden there's a loud thump from the kitchen.

I run into the kitchen without taking my shoes off.

"Mom?!? Omg mom!" On the kitchen floor was my mother completely still. I checked her pulse and thank all the guardian angels watching over her, it was still there. Not strong, but there.

I pulled out my phone and called for an ambulance. Within 10 minutes an ambulance pulled up outside the apartment to take my mother to the hospital.

It felt longer than it actually took to get to the hospital. Everything was a blur, the questions asked by the paramedics, the sounds of sirens, everything. All I could feel was Juyeon's little hand holding on to mine tightly.

By the time we reached the hospital my mother was barely breathing and was rushed into the emergency room. We were forced to stay in the waiting room until the doctors would come outside.

We waited, and waited and waited. It was around 11pm when finally a doctor came through those doors.

"Miss, are you Park Jung Soo's daughter?" A tall man in a face mask asks as he stares at his clipboard. Why does he look so familiar.

He lifts his head to look at me and we're both frozen as we recognise each other.

"Jin!"

"Mimi!"

I couldn't stop myself and jumped up to hug my best friend. He immediately hugged me back and held me there for a bit longer before we let go.

"Mimi, don't cry, please. You know I hate seeing you cry." He held on to my shoulders and stared straight into my eyes.

I hadn't realised that I was crying. I wiped away my tears with the sleeve of my jacket and smiled up at him.

"Jinnie, it's been so long." The day I had left Seoul, I decided to lose most my connections, especially the ones close with Hoseok. However, I accidentally forgot to add Seokjin into my new phone and no way of contacting him for the last five years.

And then I remembered my mom had just been in behind them white doors.

"Jin, how's my mother? Is she okay? What's wrong with her?" I started throwing questions at him left and right.

"Mimi, you have to sit down and listen." Jin's face is grim as he sits himself and I down on to the seats.

Juyeon suddenly crawls on to my lap and holds my hand in her small hands. Jin was clearly shocked to see this little girl in my lap, holding my hand.

"I'll tell you later, but tell me how my mother is. What's wrong?"

"Eunmi, I'm so sorry."
