CHAPTER TWO

"You cannot tell her, whatsoever. You know that, right?" Riley asked, his face stern and serious which honestly scared me a little; even though he's my mate and I know he would never hurt me. I quickly nodded in response and he kissed me on my forehead, leaving me alone with his words.

Yes, I know about werewolves. I am a werewolf. Let me explain it to you. My dad is part of the Aureum Pluviam Pack. Which means Golden Rain in Latin. The formal name is Aureum Pluviam Pack but people noramlly call us the Golden Rain Pack because it is more convenient for people who can't translate Latin.

Anyway, back to werewolves. The Moon Goddess granted our universe a gift. She paired up humans and supernaturals, which include werewolves. My dad then found his mate, my mom. Shortly after that Kaylani and I were born and here we are. The thing was that my dad is werewolf and my mom is human. 

I got the non dominant trait because I am a werewolf. It is indeed rare and unlikely for a werewolf and human to create a werewolf but I am living proof. My mom is aware about werewolves but Kaylani isn't. Kay thinks that everyone is human, when really, most of us are werewolves. 

When a human and werewolf are paired up they still have to complete the mating process. So that's what my parents did. Typically when they mate, the human will shift a couple days later. But my mom never shifted. My mom, May, later found out that she was a witch. Both of my grandparents, from my mom's side, are witches. It was pretty interesting. 

All we know about Kaylani is that she isn't a werewolf; she doesn't smell like one.

Since today was my sweet 16, I was having a party. Of course I invited all my friends, but I invited a couple of other werewolves as well. Such as Riley, my boyfriend and beta, Alpha Rafael, and Gamma Aiden. There are some others but we aren't that close. I also invited the gamma female, Michelle, who just so happened to be Kay's best friend. 

What Kay doesn't know is that Michelle left school for Aiden, not just for homeschooling. For her, the secret was difficult to keep, so she dropped out, leaving my sister with honestly no friends. I can't blame her because I still have sudden urges to tell Kaylani. I hate lying to my sister about leaving to go to the library just because I need to go out for a run. But there is not much I can do about it. When Alpha Rafael gives me permission to tell her, I will.

Before I shifted, I used to tell her everything. All about boys, my day at school, drama. She would help me through a lot of it. I really do miss it.

"Kyle! We need you to check everything and make sure it's all set up." My dad said, interupting my thoughts. 

With my werewolf hearing, I could make out that  Riley was talking with Alpha Rafael about something; but I'm not so sure what it was. Speaking of Alpha Rafael, he commanded that I invite him to my party, and although I didn't mind, he could've asked me in the first place. My sass was getting the best of me. I quickly gathered my thoughts.
