Every 9th grader in Creekwood High School -21X- had to pass a test to go further in life. If you failed one or two of the sections, you would get sent to one of the lowest jobs. If you failed 3 or more, then let's just say good luck. These people would get no job at all, or worse a job you could only do once, before you died.
Laurens and Nicolas weren't bad students they just were bad at history, however they had many other talents. Nicolas was a short boy with long raven hair he had deep, dark brown eyes, and pale complexion. Nicolas was your typical shy kid. He was also great with electronics, he spent more time with them then he did with people, other then his only friend Laurens.
Laurens was opposite of Nicolas in most ways. He was tall, had short chocolate brown hair to match his eyes, and he had a typical pale complexion. The main thing that made Nicolas and Laurens so different was that Laurens was very popular, outgoing, and athletic. Laurens and Nicolas, however, were best of friends.
Nicolas and Laurens were similar in the same way that they were almost always top of the class, for most subjects. Maths, science, literature, survival, and Tech. The only thing they both did bad at, was history. Not just bad, but failure, terrible at it. So Nicolas and Laurens decided they would find a better way to try to succeed there final test.
Nicolas had been working for years on a time machine. Not the crappy ones that you could only go three days into the past and not move or be seen. Those are what everyone had, they were almost as popular as phones. Nicolas had been working for about ten years on a time machine that would let you go anywhere in the past, and do whatever you wished.
Laurens and Nicolas had come up with a plan to use the machine to go to the past, in the 21st century to learn all they needed for the history section of the test. In other words they were going to go into the past, kidnap who ever they came across first and use them to try to pass this test.
