(Sidenote: I am skipping a couple years of Andrius's and Lina's story, hopefully you won't mind. I just couldn't keep my patience in anymore. I apologize eek sorry!)
Andrius's Point of View
After I finished eating, I headed over to Lina and Jonas's jurta, hoping that Lina wasn't there. This would be my third attempt trying to go over to her place without actually seeing her there. I had an important question to ask Jonas.
Once I got there, I peeked inside. At first, it looked like there was no one inside, but once I took a second look, I saw Jonas resting in his bed. When I walked in, he didn't get up.
"Are you alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm just resting. Are you looking for Lina?" He asked, his head still laying on the wooden boards.
I guess I can't blame him for me asking for Lina, since I come and see her all the time. We have been dating for almost two years now, since I ended up in Siberia with her.
"No, I actually came to look for you." I admitted. "Is Lina coming back anytime soon?"
"She's going to be gone for another hour. Unless it's going to take you that long, you'll be okay. Why?" He asked, in a flat tone.
"I needed to ask you a question." I look at the ground.
"What can I help you with?" He turned his face over to me.
"I know that this is a little ambitious, but, you're the only person left in Lina's family. I was just wondering if...you would give me your blessing to marry Lina." I breathed out.
Jonas immediately sat up, his back stick straight.
"What?" He asked, in disbelief.
"I want to marry Lina." I say, again.
He sat, his eyes staring at me. For a couple seconds, he opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out.
"I can't believe this...Andrius, you have my blessing. And, I'm sure that both of our parents would give you their blessing." He started to smile.
"Thank you." I say, looking back at him. "I have one more favor to ask for you."
"What is it?"
"You probably won't, and that's okay, but I was wondering if you...you could give me your mom's wedding ring...so I could propose to her." I say, as Jonas's smile fades into a shocked face.
"I thought we were going to bury it with her when we headed back to Lithuania!" He whined.
"It was just a thought." I mumble.
We both sat in silence, until Jonas got up and started to walk.
"I have an idea." He said, pointing his finger up.
"What's your idea?" I asked back in return.
Jonas pulled a suitcase from under the boards, and started rummaging though, as if he was finding something. He then found a coin purse, and he went through, until he found what he was looking for.
It was a silver ring, with an aquamarine stone. It glistened, even though we were in the dark jurta.
"This was my mothers. She never really wore it as much, but she still took it along with her. It's an aquamarine stone, to represent Lina's birthstone." He handed the ring to me.
Lina's birthday. It had just passed. It was in March.
"Does Lina ever wear it?" I asked.
"Not really. It's more of her mother's then hers, but, I think it would fit her perfectly. If you needed wedding bands, then, you could maybe use our parents. But, we don't have to figure it out now."
It was in mint condition. It was unscratched. It was perfect.
"Go and propose to her." He nodded.
"Thank you, Jonas. I don't know how I'll ever repay you."
"You've already repaid me a long time ago. You made my sister the happiest she could have been." He looked up at me, before giving me a hug.
I waved goodbye before heading back to my own place. With the ring, still in my pocket. All I could think about, was the stone that was in Lina's pocket right now.
